Christmas Eve

It was finally Christmas Eve and I was so exited.

Before I got ready, I whipped up some Christmas shaped cookies and put Whisk in a green sweater.

I straightened my hair and picked out my outfit:

Plain black shirt, leather skirt, long red cardigan, black boots, black leg warmers.

I pinned a little piece of my hair back and placed the presents I got for my friends under the tree.

Now all I had to do was wait for people to arrive.

Whisk and I were cuddling on the couch, watching the how the grinch stole Christmas when I got a text.

Maz: hey my friend Luke's flight got cancelled due to weather. Can I bring a plus one?

(Yes, Luke brooks. I just wanted another youtuber in my story:D)

Scarlet: of course! I would never let someone spend Christmas Eve alone!

As soon as I put my phone down the doorbell rang.

I opened it and there was Amy, carrying 3 big presents, covering her face.

"a little help here would be nice," she said.

I laughed and picked up a present and put it under the tree.

Amy did the same and the doorbell rang again.

I opened it and there stood Harrison, Maz and who I'm guessing is Luke.

I hugged Maz and Harrison and they put their presents under the tree.

"Hi you must be Luke," I said

"and you must be Scarlet," he responded holding out his hand to shake.

"Oh please it's Christmas eve! come here," I said as I hugged him.

Ya I know I'm a bit pushy but I just want people to feel comfortable.

We were all sitting on the couch eating my baked goodies and watching Christmas movies.

"so Luke, where are you from?" I asked.

"I'm from Melbourne Australia," he responded.

"no way! my father's from Melbourne! I lived there the first 2 years of my life but I don't have the accent like my dad, although I wish I did."

"that's so cool I wish we could've bumped into each other there. Do you ever visit?" He asked.

"Oh Ya my family visits all the time, usually during the summer and on some holidays to see family. Also, my father was a teacher there at Sundane high school and he sometimes goes to teach fourth year."

"Oh I went there! What's his name."

"Oh it's Dan, but I guess his students call him professor Donnelly or something like that."

"Mr. Donnelly? He taught me science in fourth year! This is such a coincidence. Finally, someone who is from where I am."

We smiled at each other and I heard someone clear there throat.

I turned to see Maz.

"alright guys how about we open some presents," he said.

we all agreed and sat down around the tree.

By 2am we were all pretty tired but we're still able to stay up and have fun.

I got to know Luke a lot better and I've noticed Maz has gotten jealous.

"I think I'm gonna head back home now with Luke," said Harrison.

Harrison is letting Luke stay at his place until he can get the next flight.
I hugged them goodbye and they left.
Amy was sleeping over so we could catch our plane together to get home for Christmas.
We had to leave at 4:00am so we were just going to stay up for 2 more hours and sleep on the plane.

I walked Maz back to his apartment, which was literally 2 feet away from mine.
He opened the door and gestured me in to hang out a little.

I stepped in and made three steps when he yelled at me to stop.

I froze and didn't move just like he told me to.

"Ha! I finally got you," he said.
I was confused for a second, but then he pointed above my head.

I looked up to see the mistletoe.

I giggled and he pulled my waist towards him with a big smile on his face, our bodies now touching.

"Well, it is tradition," I said.

We leaned in and for the first time, our lips connected and I could just see the fireworks go off.

The kiss got deeper and the longer it happened the more I just realized how lucky I am to have moved in here and have him as my neighbor.

When we stopped for air I realized we were on the couch, and Maz was on top of me.

We stopped before anything got too far and I walked to his door.

I turned and he was right in front of me.

His hand was next to me on the door, making him lean over me.

I looked up at him and smiled.

"Goodbye...merry christmas." I said
"Best present ever." Maz said.

I couldn't help but blush.

I left and walked back to my apartment, seeing Amy cuddling with Whisk on the couch.

"Maybe you should get some sound proof walls, or at least close the door," she yelled.

We laughed and replayed the Grinch.

This truly has been the best Christmas Eve I've ever had.
