Olivia's POV

Today Lola would be closing down the cafe. Well, technically it would be tomorrow but Lola would be announcing the closing of Lola's Sweets today. I was honestly sorrowful knowing that the place where I spent most of my days, is basically disappearing.

But Lola seemed to be happy, I guess she was happy how the cafe turned out. The whole town knew about the cafe, we had a lot of regulars. Lola said that she had always wanted a place where everyone could just grow up in a place they would never forget.

She considered the cafe to be a happy memory, it may not be standing physically, it would live on in the hearts of who shaped it to be today.

I knew that the cafe meant something to the town, its where future spouses met, where forever friends laugh, even where children play occasionally.

I sighed, we were in a meeting with Lola. She was currently giving a speech how she loved the time she was with us. I can see the others tearing up, but I just held my tears. I've had cried enough when I was with Lola yesterday.

I was the first to find out that the cafe would be turned into an office for the Williams Enterprise. I clenched my hand into a fist, with every passing moment I felt my blood boiling because of Aiden. This was the push I was waiting for, I am no longer going to wait for his sorry ass. He isn't worth it anymore.

"And that concludes this meeting, I'll personally give each of your last paycheck. Thank you so much for you services." Lola thanked us and smiled warmly.

She came to me first and gave me my paycheck, "Liv, you are a strong woman. You have been there not only for me and your co workers but also little Jamie. I've always cared for you as if you are my own daughter, and I will still do. You know where to find me." She winked at me, we had a special place in her backyard. Her and her husband built the small cottage where her children can play in but they weren't able to get pregnant so they had a dusty old cottage behind their house where I am always welcomed in.

I beamed at Lola, "I promise to come by as much as I can, Lola." I was getting teary-eyed, I was definitely going to miss this place.
After a few more hours of goodbyes and speeches, I was finally on my way home. It was 4pm so I decided to get some food for Jamie, specifically mac and cheese.

When I got home, I suddenly felt cold, I rubbed my arm with my free hand. Something felt wrong. "L? Jamie? I'm home." I called out to the quiet house.

"Olivia." A familiar voice called, then he came out.

Fuck.

"Aiden." I answered coldly. My body grew tense as he walked closer to me. In my mind, alarms started going off. "Where is Jamie? And what did you do to Leila?" I snarled, quietly.

"Leila took Jamie to the park." Aiden waved a piece of paper in front of me, a note. "I wanted to see Jamie but—"

"Get out of my house." I cut him off, willing my voice to stay strong. My legs are turning into jelly, I felt weak right now.

"Not until you answer my question, Lia." He dropped the cold act, and crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm not leaving until I get them."

"Fine." I am honestly so tired of hiding from him, I might be able to straighten things put before he takes me to court.
I lead him to the dining table and I sat down. He sat opposite from me.
