I headed to Noah's house, he opens the door and I get inside. His place was more beneficial than I expect. He subsists on his own, but his mother often sees him. His dad owns a retail company in Chicago. He stood there and found no Jeffrey.
''Didn't expect you.'' He smiled.
''I would like to talk to Jeffrey, is he here?'' I say.
''Yes.'' He brushes his hair using his fingers. ''Have a sit first. I will call him.''
''I hope you would convince yourself to go home. We've missed you.'' I say. without throwing a glance. Stood on a porch near the window.
He's staring into space. Getting some response.
''I know it is not easy, but Miles needs you now. He needs us, we should be there for him.'' I say.
''You know when dad says to me you should be a doctor because Miles does. I told myself that I should reach my dreams of what I want to. That's why I was delighted when Hale studied in New York because he is the only music inclined in our family.'' He muttered.
A moment spared between us.
''But I know Miles is brave, more than I do. He has a lot of strengths and perseverance. Miles can do better than I.'' He turned his face, and face unreadable. Pulled my hand, and get into his arms. ''I missed you too.'' He whispers.
I went home with Jeffrey, and Miles looked at him briefly. They could not be exalted that they had yearned for each other. I'm happy because they're OK. That is all that matters to be happy. They hugged each other.
I also went with a hug after Miles pulls me to him.
The following night, we decided to sleep in one room with my brothers. Hale is brushing his teeth in the bathroom when I get to talk to him. Miles and Jeffrey are washing the dishes in the kitchen after dinner.
''How are you and my best friend Suzy?'' I asked, leaned my head, and appeared over the mirror from the bathroom's door.
''Nothing.'' He just gives me a shrug. ''Busy with music.''
As usual. I say to myself.
''I told Suzy to help Drayden for placing his exhibit with his dad,'' I say.
He turned his face and paused from the toothbrush in a jiff.
''Does Miles know about this?'' Raised his eyebrow.
''No.'' I shook my head. ''And please let's keep this as a secret. Don't want to ruin everything.''
He stares at me from mirroring.
''I'll get going,'' I say and went upstairs.
I know Hale would help me, even he is very weird, but that makes girls crazy about him. Sounded credulous right? He is just a silent type of person, he won't talk unless you will. Do you get the picture?
I get my pillow. Miles is doing something on his laptop. He is a workaholic. Can't get him that even at home is working. They sleep in my room. Hale walks in.
He throws himself to my bed and lay as he owns it because there's so much enough space. I tapped his back. But he didn't move. Miles closes his laptop, and his curve of muscles and biceps are blowing.
He lays next to Hale, and my position is between Hale and Miles. Jeffrey ended up sleeping down to our foot. He wrapped himself in a blanket. I stared at the ceiling to sleep next to my brothers. Turned my direction face to the photo frame placed near the lamp on the bedside table. It's a picture of our parents.
I missed them. But feels like nothing is empty because of my brother's love and they took care of me, and the guy which is swimming in my head, Drayden.
Told Miles about the exhibit and there is an auction after. Nicholas already set about displaying his friend's artworks there. Because I know that Doctor Ross loves sculpture.
I was waiting and stood there at the Lenora del Studios. Suzy called out. I texted Nicholas and Drayden is on his way. All he knows that he will just come to witness the exhibit of my best friend's dad.
Miles is already in the parking lot. But Hale seems to miss this because he has a music lesson.
''Hey.'' He smiled.
Something about him has wanted to see him every day. His charming eyes, and alluring voice. But we heard Miles's voice behind.
''Shall we go?'' Miles says, and met Drayden. ''What's he doing here?'' He asked.
''Let them be. Don't worry about Miles.'' Doctor Ross says grinning, as he took his hand and pulled him away.
Drayden and I walked together to the exhibit, and some of the people are already there. Suzy's dad has to make a speech.
''Thank you for coming. Didn't expect that this would be a bunch of crowds over here. Would like to thank my daughter Suzy and my wife Susanne. But not only my creations you would see. Because some friend of mine asked me a favor if she could place some of the artwork of this brilliant guy name Drayden Hendry.''
Drayden looked at me questioningly.
''You know this guy is one of a kind more than I. He is passionate more than I do. Because an artist draws his blood through the canvas, even sweats and sees the laborious freedom of his work.''
''What's this?'' He asked.
''Sorry If I didn't tell you. I was just trying to surprise you. Want you to restore all of your failed dreams, and faded handworks.'' I say after we reached one of his paintings displayed.
''But this is too much. You don't have to do this.'' He says in glee. ''Don't know how lucky I am that I met you in my life.'' He says, his good set of teeth pronounced.
We stood facing each other.
''You don't need to thank me, because you deserve all of this,'' I say smiling.
''What a great artist.'' Suzy's dad came over. ''Nice to meet you behind those amazing artworks.'' He says.
Drayden turned his face and body towards him.
''It's my pleasure, sir.'' He mumbled.
''You don't know how lucky you are to have this girl. She makes all of this just for you.'' Suzy's dad commented. ''Don't waste the chance to get her, boy.'' He patted his shoulder.
We just exchanged glances. He smiles, that blissful grin of his. His reddish lips, and charming eyes. There's something I know the connection between us.
We were gathered by our teacher about the upcoming event in the school activities. Suzy is at my back. Noah was there and selected students to be part of it.
''As part of the value of our school, we will plant more trees to save our earth from deforestation and global warming. So as a college, you were designated to do as a volunteer and to see your future babies the world they about to breathe.'' She says.
Noah looked at me and grins.
We stood there, gathered while all were excited to plant trees, and need to sleep there for a night. So I started to pack my things as I got up to my house. Personal hygiene, blankets, and sunscreen. I told my brothers that I will be away for a day, and Noah Birkett will be there to look after me.
The school provided a camp tent for us, so I must stay with Suzy instead of Birkett, and missed flashlights. I get some batteries from the storage room, and this was the first time I will be far from them. But being in college is to explore everything, break those boundaries.
I set my alarm by 6 a.m, Miles makes me a meal so I could eat while on a trip. Hale give me some snacks, like lays and Cheetos. Thinking that planting trees would be fun except for dealing with Noah's shadows. I hope everything will go well.
