''I miss you.''
Noah had us for dinner, and he took my hand as he brushes his hair through his fingers. Hale just-cooked corned beef and canned goods. His unexpected visit. I thought he'll be coming home next week.
''Are you happy?'' He asked after we ate our dinner. I was standing on the porch. He is sitting next to me.
I give him a leisurely nod.
''I would like to tell you something,'' I say. Guilt.
"I know.'' He sounded unhappy. It really breaks my heart.
''You know that I like you, I mean you're kind, and basically, those girls at school like you. But I know you deserve more than that. You don't deserve a girl who might end up hurting you.''
''And that girl is you right?'' He said between a pause. ''Are you and Drayden still hanging out? Did he say that he likes you too?''
I give him a nod. ''Yes.''
''That's why you didn't come up when I told you to follow me in Tennessee. I thought Miles was a bad liar. Because he isn't good at lying. But that time I really believe him.'' He sounded dismal.
''I'm really sorry.'' I apologize, can't gaze at his eyes which would make me
excruciating. That night, I felt relief. Maybe I hate myself in the part I assume that we can be together. But my thoughts deeply resonated with my soul.
Suzy convinced me to attend the geriatric sessions. Because her mother is a volunteer at Cambridge of Welchdale Homes. Need to spend five hours sitting relating to the old people, especially concerning their healthcare. Hale drop us, and I saw the old building and catch sight of old people. Some are in their wheelchair, some were sprinkling their garden as we passed by.
Her mother Olivia is right ahead of us and called out.
''Thank you for visiting Keely. Glad you to meet the lovely geriatrics." She says. ''By the way, this is Mat Reding,'' introducing the skinny guy, with a sharp jaw but with a muscular biceps. He has this strong character. ''He will be the one who assists you with our activities for today.''
I smiled.
We followed Matt and went to the old office and stopped in a room. He took out the door keys. Then he opened it. He turned and had a glance.
''So, this is where the boxes for the geriatric stored.'' He says.
He took the ladder, and get boxes.
I carry those over my shoulders and arms, and Suzy helps. As we are heading back, a guy called out waving over.
''Matt Reding!''
As though what was coming was a clearer feeling, it was Drayden. What does he do here?
''Hey, just would like to introduce this gorgeous lady.'' Mat says.
Drayden and I exchanged glances. Suzy stood next to me.
''Yea, we know him. She is his boyfriend, they are at the Painters Club.'' Suzy clarifies her statement.
Drayden stepped foot, toward my direction. ''Hey.'' He said with his charming eyes, and alluring voice.
As he took out the box that goes over my arms and laps to my shoulders. The two of them left us after he placed the boxes on the table.
''The woman who raised me is here, she was sent in Welchdale Homes after her husband died.'' He explains.
"I didn't know that. '' I shrugged my shoulders.
