Chapter 14

''I'm really stupid,'' I said bluntly.

We're inside the corner cafe with my bae. Drayden Hendry is sitting across my table, and I feel dubious. I tried to get to the bottom of this. He's there tries to help out. Miles is such a good person. I'm not used to seeing him that was not on good terms.

''The way you can fix this is to give him some space for a while, I know you can patch things up. ''

''You think?'' I say.

''Yea, because we're such a great endeavor. And obviously, Doctor Ross would love to able to speak himself for him to know the truth.''

''Come on, I don't want to see you unhappy. It makes me upset.''

He tries to pick me up and to ease the situation. It's nice having a boyfriend protecting you from pain and maybe he's inimitable. A smile curve on my lips from a great privilege of fellow feeling.

I received an email from Vermont regarding my application that I sent to them two months ago as a business controller. Well, the major course is responsible for the production of financial reports. I opened that letter and told me to visit their office by Monday.

It's Monday, and I headed to the office to review my status regarding my application. I searched the room and asked where is the place of Vermont Department Affairs.

When I noticed the back of a man who was familiar with me from my position and realized who it was.

''Keely?'' He said, couldn't believe he had seen me. He's talking to a woman and I think they were close. ''Why are you here?''

''Uhm, just have some business appointments,'' I muttered. ''I was looking for Ms. Daisies-''

The woman mumbled, ''Ms. Keely Clements?''

I give her a confused look.

''Do you know her?'' She asked.

"Yea, actually she's the girl I'm telling you. By the way, this is Ms. Daisies one of my mom's closest friends.'' He explained.

I give them a nod.

She smiles.

''So you're the girl he always mentioning about you.''

''Oh, you have business with her or something,'' Drayden mumbled as we talked along the hallway.

''She's good. You know she helps her brother in the hospital, like taking care of the patient once the secretary was off.'' He says.

''Oh really? How thoughtful. Okay, may we come in Ms. Keely so we could discuss for further information regarding your application?''

I get inside of her room, and Drayden waits outside. I sit.

''We reviewed your application and we find the job that fits you as Human Resource in Digital Solutions.'' She added. ''Is that okay with you?''

I nod leisurely.

''Yeah, thank you,'' I say.

''I hope you can start tomorrow because the job really needs a keen and enthusiastic person. You can submit your requirements as you start.''

I head out of the room, met Drayden in the hallway. I stepped toward his direction.

''I got it!'' I say in jovial. ''I got the job!''

I hugged him, lurching in a frenzied state. Then he kissed me.

''I know you're a crack, and because they stunned with your character.'' He shifted with a grimace after having a deep pleasure and disdainful pride. Pulled my arms into a hug.
