I stood at my office table. I had a glimpse at my phone and heard a knock that catches my attention.
''Did I unnerve you?'' She said.
''I have a party tonight, including our investors and stakeholders. And I want you to come. I would like to thank you also for staying.'' She said mercifully.
Her eyes gaped, listened with rapture.
I am mirroring, exhaled. I wore a dress, and wet my lips. I'm not cruel, only truthful. Unlike humans, a mirror cannot judge her with opinions. The mirror triggers conscious and unconscious memories of her life faithfully. The candles and moonlight don't give the exact truth like the mirror. The candles and moon are just distractions to finding the essential self.
I went downstairs and met Martin. Sent his court gestures through his elbow. He smiles.
''How do I look?'' I asked.
''You look stunning.'' He commented. ''Shall we?''
I get inside of his car. As we got up to Daisie's condo. The party is already started. Martin handed me a drink. I feel that the air was frigid.
''You okay?'' He asked.
I give him a nod.
Mrs. Daisies came over and called out.
''I hope you are enjoying the party.''
She heads out, and Martin puts his jacket over my shoulders. The loud music besieged the borders in the space. My phone rings it's Drayden. I look for a better signal. As I reached the garage. I saw him leaning against his car.
He sorted my view and went in my way.
''Miles told me you're here.'' He said bluntly.
I don't know that Martin followed me, as he emerged behind my back.
''Keely!'' He called out.
Drayden narrowed eyes and seems grudging.
''So you went there with him?'' He smiles smugly.
"I'm here for work. We're not just to have fun.'' I grinned.
So that's why you didn't tell me about him.'' He pokes his head.
''And don't make a scene here,'' I mumbled.
''She's not doing anything.'' Martin was sorely tempted to retaliate a reply.
''Hey don't intervene! This just between me and my girlfriend.'' He made him holler.
That night it so happen that he just make a scene. I don't know why. Everything comes so deeply jinormous to be knotty. I know that our love story isn't perfect, isn't the way that I imagine. But for the second time. It gone worse. Should I still believe in fairy tale? That Drayden is my knight in shining armor.
I cried that night. Headed to the convenience store just to standby waiting for customers getting to be distracted to my drama. I was there. It's 9 P.M. As I held my phone to reach the numerous messages of him that asking me if where am I. Its not giving me any colder since Martin left his Jacket placing my back. I texted my Manager that I skipped without telling her.
I slowly poked my head waiting for possible inflictions of how am I supposed to deal with him. Pretty much chaotic about spending time with him after moving to his house last Summer. My brother Jeffrey who is working in a real estate as a Junior Marketing specialist, pick me up that Drayden told them including Hale we have a fight, and I ignored his messages. My brothers were worried. They aren't sure of me moving out is the best option that I did. As I get inside his car as he drives, Jeffrey told me to fix everything with Drayden. But unfortunately I wasn't ready yet.
But as I reached our house, Drayden was there waiting sitting on the porch. Jeffrey told me to talk to him inside. Miles and Hale wasn't around. So it's just me, him and Jeffrey. Miles something discovers about parenting and he enjoys it with his husband and my cool nephews are so adorable. I wanted to cuddle them everyday. As we head, Jeffrey told me that I should go home and living with him is not suitable. That I might be hurting but I know Drayden don't allow that.
He sit on the couch. I was just standing against the table in the kitchen. As Jeffrey wants me to talk to him. My phone beeps and Martin just comes in, he texted me that I should be okay and asking me if I was doing well.
''You know that we promised our parents to take care Keely, and we don't want anything bad happen to her. You should be responsible since you take her away from us.'' My brother said, catechizing.
''I didn't took your sister, I became part of your family. And I didn't take away from you. I feel bad about her.''
''I think Keely should go home, and go on with your lives even you're not living in the same roof.'' Jeffrey claimed.
I keep myself unobtrusive. Hating him is the biggest lie I could ever done. We just fight, we're just bend and I could forgive him for being that way.
Jeffrey's phone rings, and someone is calling him, and need to take the call.
''I'm sorry.'' He muttered without throwing a glance.
''Maybe you're right. I didn't care about how you feel, and I'm sorry for that. I thought you understand me.'' I say.
''Hey, have you forgotten that no matter what happen I will always love you. No one could ever replace you in my heart. And that Martin, I'm just scared of losing you.'' He mumbled with his wrinkled forehead.
Jeffrey comes back across the living room.
''Go to your room now. It's getting late.'' He told me. ''Drayden you should go to.''
''Hold on, I will go with him. I'm so sorry for this trouble.'' I say.
''Are you sure about that?'' He asked confusingly.
''Yea,'' I nodded leisurely.
''Okay, but this will be the last time that you be stubborn. I won't miss the chance to take her away from you ever again.'' Jeffrey make a glance before turning away.
Drayden gives me smile is the crinkle of his eyes, the upturn of the corners of his mouth. And grab my hand.
You choose people not because you need them, or you owe them. We Choose people because we love them even at their worst. I was busy that afternoon because I was happy to celebrate our anniversary. I know. He doesn't like to celebrate at such a simple party. We last celebrated when her Grandmother was still alive. We spend more on things here, at home and on our savings.
While I was getting ready and preparing for later to my surprise a visitor arrived. I opened the door Hale came up to me and handed me the cake.
‘'Susy just wanted to say Happy Anniversary, I just came by to give that. That asshole you are his heaven-sent.' He says.
As he head out, I placed the cake in the fridge while finishing to print out our pictures from the computer. And the stationery.
