"9 patients were admitted here in our hospital aside from your two daughters. None of them were badly injured so we will be discharging them as soon as their wounds were treated."
"Charge all the expenses to us, Doc. Don't let them pay even a cent. And can we ask for their contact information for us to know how can we extend our help and to express our sincere apologies?"
"Yeah, sure. I'll tell my nurses to accommodate your request, Mr. Carlos."
"Thank you, Doc."
MA is still not awake. Uncle and I decided to take a walk. Mom and Auntie were left with Dad outside the ICU.
"I hope we can easily fix this situation. I'm very thankful that it were all minor injuries. But I just hoped this never happened. We can't afford to send Zia away again for her treatments. I wish she'll get up from there soon."
And then he headed to the ward. Some of the victims heated up and shouted out Uncle.
"Paano ho kami ngayon? Hindi ho ako makakapasok ng ganito? Paano na hovang pamilya ko kung susundin ko ang one week rest na payo noong Doktor?"
"Don't worry. We will pay your one week salary. We will also biy yours medicine. Huwag ho kayong mag-alala sasagutin po namin ang lahat ng damages sa inyo."
"Mabuti naman ho kung ganon. Maiba lang ho, kamusta nga pala yung anak niyong nakabangga sa bus?"
"Hindi pa siya stable. Nasa ICU siya ngayon," ako na ang sumagot dahil mukhang hindi kayang sagutin ni Uncle.
"Bakit naman ho kasi siya nagda-drive ng nakainom?"
"She's not that drunk. Nawalan siya ng kontrol sa breaks ng kotse. She was aware of what she was doing she was able to call her sister to tell what's happening with her. We are really sorry, nadamay pa kayo sa aksidente," nakayuko akong humihingi mg tawad.
"Hindi naman niya din siguro ginusto yung nangyari. Sabagay, sino nga ba naman ang gugustuhing maaksidente 'di ba?" singit ng isang babae na sa hula ko ay galing restroom. "Mr. Carlos?" gulat na tanong nito. "Akala ko ibang Carlos ang nadisgrasya. Anak niyo po ba yung nasa kotse?" usisa nito.
"Ahm, yes. Do I know you?" nagtatakang sagot ni Uncle.
"Nakita niyo na po pala siya? Matagal ko na po kayong hinahanap para sabihin sa inyo yun e," nakangiti nitong sabi.
"What do you mean "Nakita niyo na po pala siya?" It makes me confused. Naguguluhan ako."
"Hindi niyo po ba ako nakikilala? Ako po si Gema, Gema Reyes."
"Sorry pero hindi ko maalala king saan kita nakita."
"Pangasinan Medical Hospital, Nurse Gema Reyes."
"Oh my! Ikaw yung nurse na pinag-iwanan ko sa mag-ina ko. I've been looking for you! May na-receive akong message dati regarding my daughter. Naguluhan ako kasi I saw the two of them na, ahm, and niyakap ko pa sila before I left them to you. So I was confused so I searched for you since I've lost my phone na kino-contact mo."
"Akala ko din po, pero habang inaayos po namin ang labi ng mag-ina ninyo, may isa pa po palang bata sa loob ng sinapupunan ni Mara. Ginawa po namin ang lahat para maisalba yung baby. Nagtagumpay naman po kami. Kaya natutuwa po akong kasama niyo na pala siya ngayon, pero nakakalungkot dahil naaksidente naman siya."
"What do you mean kasama namin siya? The one who was caught in the accident is really my daughter with my wife."
