Chapter 22: I HATE U, I LOVE U

I woke up groggily, groaning, and sinking my head into the pillows, then realized it's not my scent. Napaupo ako bigla nang mapagtantong nasa hotel room ako and my head is hurting like crazy. I eyed the water and the medicine at the side table at hindi nagdalawang isip na inumin 'yun.

What did I do last night?

There's no clock, and my phone is nowhere to be seen, so I'm not sure what time it is. Ang alam ko lang ay madilim sa labas, the moonlight flooding this dark room.

Napatayo ako and looked down to see that I'm in a grey t-shirt and black boxer shorts. Napasinghap ako, what the heck? Who changed my clothes?

I sat back down, and flashes of memory started to resurface in my brain at naalala ko ang pagtalon talon ko sa couch, paghampas ko kay Gabriel, and did I... jump in the pool?

I face-palmed myself. What was I thinking?!

I sigh and look around the hotel room. Gabriel brought me here? Pumasok ako sa restroom para maghilamos, and I also brushed my teeth because I can still taste the alcohol.

I'm not expecting anyone to be in here but when I went out the bedroom, napahinto ako sa pintuan nang makita si Beatrice at Gabriel na nakatayo at naguusap. Beatrice caught my eye and smiled, "Hi. You okay?"

Gabriel turned around, his hands crossed over his chest at napansin kong iba narin ang suot niya. He was wearing a black dress shirt and maong pants earlier, ngayon naka white t-shirt na siya and his hair in a man bun.

I stood there awkwardly and nodded at Beatrice. I was stunned. What's happening?

She smiled at pabalik balik ang tingin saming dalawa ni Gabriel, and then she cleared her throat. "Thanks for fixing my car, Riel. I'll be in the other room."

Mabilis siyang umalis at pumasok sa isang kwarto. When she left, Gabriel sighed and went to get something in the refrigerator.

"Did you drink the medicine on your side table?" I heard Gabriel ask as I started to look around the place for my bag. I saw it on the couch and quickly took it, checking if my phone and cash were all inside, and then looked for my shoes. "Where are you going?"

Hinawakan niya ang braso ko and I harshly moved away, "My house."

"Why?" Nakakunot ang noo niya sa'kin while holding a bottled water.

"Why do you have to ask why? It's where I go home." Umirap ako at iniwasan ang tingin niya.

He sighed and grabbed my hand. "Jamie, let's talk."

"Ano ba ang dapat nating pagusapan?" Inis kong binawi ang kamay ko sa kanya. "You're the one who had sex with another woman. For everything that you've done, you don't have the right to make demands Gabriel."

Realization hit his face when I lashed out, and I let out a huge exhale, calming myself while he put down the bottle and held my hands.

"Look, Jamie. Her car broke down, and she was in the area, so I told her to stay here." Hinuli niya ang mata ko, my golden ones glared at his light brown orbs. "Habang nandito siya, she was the one who changed your clothes, and I called someone to fix her car. Hindi ko siya pinabyahe dahil gabi na and it's too dangerous for her and Trevin."

Trevin? His child is here? Napalunok ako. "Why are you explaining? You don't have to."

I removed my hands away from his, but he only held them tightly, "I told you I want to work on us, right? I was serious."

"There's no us, Gabriel! There was once, pero ngayon wala na!" Why am I listening? Why am I even considering talking it out? "I might want to sort things out before... but... I can't. Seeing you two together? I just can't. You-you have a child, Gabriel." I cried.
