Chapter 2: Song for the Dumped

Trees were dancing with her as she stood tall at the mountainside. Cheeks flushed with desire as she looked at the man of her dreams in front of her, she bit her lip—

"Bea!"

Napahinto ako sa pag ttype at napalingon sa lalakeng sumigaw, he was kneeling in front of a woman who was crying and struggling to get out of his hold.

"Riel please stand up. Everyone's looking." umiikot ang paningin ng babae at binigyang pansin ang mga taong tinitingnan sila, we even locked eyes for a second.

She's clearly embarrassed and frustrated.

"They should be. I'm proposing." Tiningnan ko ang lalakeng naka luhod, at ngayon lang napansin ang hawak niyang singsing. "Why wouldn't you accept it?"

Is he proposing? Oh my god. They look my age, and people my age are people who do not go out proposing to people.

"Ri, I'm still young. We're too young." Exactly my point.

"But I know you're the one, Bea." I grimaced. Why does it sound good in books, but so cringe in real life? Or maybe I'm just bitter.

The guy just ruined the phrase for me. "Kadiri."

I was shocked at the words coming out of my mouth, kaya napatakip ako ng bibig, and was instantly guilty. I never knew I could be hated like this. The guy heard what I said and is currently throwing daggers at me a meter away.

Nanlaki ang mata ko at pinilit kong tumingin pabalik sa laptop ko. Suddenly the screen wasn't interesting enough and I didn't know what to type. Ramdam ko ang masamang tingin ng lalake kaya nag type lang ako ng kahit ano, acting like I didn't care.

Seeing him right now, I was slightly disappointed. I thought he was a carefree guy. The type who wouldn't push a girl to do things.

Sneakily, I glanced upwards and saw that the girl was making her way out of the shop. 

Nakahinga ako ng malalim at napainom sa kape ko. I face-palmed myself. Gosh, Jamie how rude of you to say that! Hindi ko naman alam ang story nila, and I say those things. People do complicated things for love. "Thank you."

Napaigtad ako ng bahagya nang bigla niya akong kinausap, "What?"

I was staring at him in bewilderment. I didn't know he moved closer. And what was he saying? Did he seriously thank the girl who called him 'kadiri'? And most importantly, hindi niya ba ako naalala? Pero sabagay, it was dark at antagal na non.

"If you didn't say that, I wouldn't realize how embarrassing I looked begging." His voice is deep, or just hoarse from the begging he did.
