13. Unthinkable

Morgan's POV

We all stood in the kitchen patiently waiting on when Andrew was gonna let Shane know that the were on their way back.
Us three have spent the whole day planning for Jade's birthday party. Decorated the house, got her presents, invited friends. We all hoped it would be absolutely perfect for her.

Personally, I hope she's having a blast with Andrew, maybe they confessed their feelings for each other. They have undeniable chemistry and that's a fact, but they're both oblivious about everything.

"Morgan... Morgan.. MORGAN!"

I snap out of my thoughts, "Hm? What Ryland?"

"Andrew just texted Shane. We have to finish getting ready!" Ryland says panicking because we haven't finished at all.

I get off the counter and finish hanging the banner. Looking over I see Shane focused on his phone with a scared look on his face.

"Shane? What's wrong?"

He sets his phone down and runs his hand through his hair, "I'm just worried about if Jade will like her party. Her friends aren't here, mom isn't here. I just don't know."

I sigh, "Shane.." I walked over and sat at the bar, "You're over thinking it. What's the point of her living here for a year?"

"I don't know.."

"Yes you do. To have her brother back, and she does now. She most likely just wanted to spend her birthday with her brother. Have you even said happy birthday to her?"

Shane sighs and pulls his hood over face and starts crying, "No I haven't.."

I run my hand through my hair and look over at Ryland who is hanging streamers, "Shane.. why? You know she is sensitive."

He pulls his hood down and wipe his tears, "I wanted everything to be a surprise.."

Ryland finishes and walks over, "But not saying happy birthday?.. she is probably beating herself up about it."

Ryland goes to speak when we hear a knock at the door. I go over and open it and see it's everyone we invited.

"Hey guys!" I shout with a smile on my face. In walks, Drew, Garrett, Jeffree, and Jared.

"I got the birthday cake!" Garrett shouts setting it on the counter.

"I got the confetti cannons!" Jeffree says with excitement setting them in the kitchen.

"I brought the snacks!" Jared says walking into the kitchen as well.

And last but not least Drew says, "And I have the floats for the pool!"

We all laugh at Drew seeing the options he brought. We knew we only had little time before Andrew and Jade show up so we hurry and finish getting the house ready.
