We endured a week of constant patrols as armed and horseback fighters roamed through the forest. They were not taking the sight of the dead abnormal lightly, including the fact that it wasn't one of them that had killed it as well.

Ramsey watched two troops on horseback chatting lightly. This is like a really sloppy game of hide and go seek. They don't even realize we are potential players, and somehow they aren't finding what they're looking for anyways.

Three times now, we had caught scent of another abnormal titan. We had not seen the titan, but we knew that there was at least one more around. Even worse, the humans didn't seem to realize it and mostly dropped their patrols to twice a day when it had been like six a day considering it was so close to the walls.

Ramsey shook out her wings and flew to a female's nest who just recently had her nestlings hatch. Ramsey greeted her by gently bunting her shoulder with my furry paw.

She oepened her tired eyes to look up at me. She blinked as she saw the nutritious, large fruit Ramsey held gently in her beak. Even her mindvoice was tired. "Oh thank walls. Reinforcements. I was up all night feeding the little shits and keeping an eye out for trouble. Go on in, they're probably hungry again. I will never doubt Mace again when he tells me that nestlings are bottomless pits.."

Ramsey chuckled, her chest vibrating and she ducked under the edge of the huge rose bush in the nest to create a small den for the nestlings near the base of the tree where the mothers nest was on top. It wasn't possible to put hatchlings in tunnels or underground. One, titans and other predators. Two, they got deathly sick within hours if they went underground.

Ramsey tilted her head as she examined the two tiny babies. Their bodies weren't much bigger than her head. They had curled up around each other to form a light brown and black ball. She used her claws to cut up several small pieces of fruit before cooing gently at them. Their teeth weren't strong enough nor sharp enough to mow through meat yet.

She got an immediate reaction as both woke up and lifted their tiny heads with trills of hunger. Someone would think that they hadn't eaten in days the way they were begging, although she knew that their mother had stuffed them full less than two hours ago. With a quiet chuckle, Ramsey started dropping the pieces of fruit into their open beaks. She was amused at the sheer amount of food that they managed to stow away. No wonder hatchlings double in size within a few days.

Once full, they curled back up and dozed off once more. Ramsey went out to join the female, Serena as she lay in the soft straw and hatchling proof-twigs. Ramsey glanced up at the clouds. Pity. No sun. We all adored the sun and sunbathing. Anything that had to do with the large ball of gas, really.

Ramsey yawned and scratched an itch at the base of her chin. "What the?" Serena's confused voice made her turn her head. She blinked as she saw a wolf pup running around on the grassy border between the forest and the plains. Ramsey didn't see a pack member in sight either. That was odd.
