I woke up once more and glanced around, but the room was empty. I did my business and checked the bowls. I ate two chicken breasts, although after a few days of meat I crave fruit. How long had I been here anyways?

I wasn't sure, but I had eaten at least three times, so I guessed three days from how hungry my stomach had been each time I woke up. I drank my water; it tasted slightly different this time as I drank it up. There wasn't anything else to do, so I walked around for a bit and stretched my wing slolwy, unfurling it and furling it back in once more for a few times.

I went back to curl under the heat lamp. I seemed to really be craving heat with my injury. Oddy enough, I didn't get tired immediately. Perhaps the water hadn't been drugged this time. I unfurled both my wings slowly to stretch them and catch more of the heat. Okay. I'm bored.

I raised my head and examined the cage a bit more closely. It was built differently from the ones we were hatched into. For starters, the cage is probably 15 x 15 from each corner to corner, giving me plenty of space to move around. My inspection was interrupted as the double door to the training area opened. I lowered myself down to make myself less conspicuous as three humans entered the room.

I doubted how effective my actions were considering I was towering over them all even laying, and I had wings. They all glanced at me as soon as they entered; they knew I was here and that I was awake. My usual roomate sat in his accustomed place on my left as I didn't growl at him, not that he would've heard it anyway. The other two chose two chairs on my right side as they looked at me with interest.

Well, I'm no longer bored. I probably should be more carefuly for what I wish and complain about.

After a good look at me, one of the humans, the same one I saw at the titan corpse, bounced out of her seat and bounded towards my cage. I instantly flared my good wing and snarled at her. She stopped her way towards me but never stopped moving her body. Was she the damn energizer bunny?

"Hanji, sit back down." One of the men said. He was built muscular and was blonde, with seriously thick eyebrows. "It is good to see that she is awake, and she seems to be recovering swiftly enough. Has she tried anything on you yet, Levi?"

Levi, the one on my right shook his head. "No. It's just been warnings."

Levi, huh? An odd name, but who was I to comment? I had been a human who had been turned into a nature-controlling gryphon. I should be a pro at odd by now.

The third one, Hanji spoke, "I talked to one of those who see them while patrolling, and we went over what he's been seeing the last few days. The flock has been short one light grey one for the last four days, so it looks like they all gather every morning when they.. do a circle thing. Those two chicks you saw being carried around were with the flock this morning, so they are still around."

She sighed before continuing, "The weirdest thing is that they only originate from that forest. We checked other forests while on expeditions, but no trace of them has been found elsewhere. According to our count, there are roughly a hundred of them if you count those two chicks and this female."

Levi sounded frustrated. "Tch, that doesn't surprise me. I have checked with multiple brats and other sources, but nothing is known about them, the damn brats. This is our first up-close look we've had on them." He rolled his eyes.

The one on my right, mr. eyebrows, leaned in closer to look at me. I turned my head towards him and snarled, extending my claws and batted the air. He quickly leaned back.

"Several of our soilders and the Garrison are trying to watch the wild ones, but that titan seemes to have them on edge, and it is nearly impossible to get near them at this point."

Hangi scoffed, "I still can't fathom how any creature that attacks, kills a 15 meter abnormal titan, and lives can be spooked," she said. "Come to that, I have never seen anything even attempt to attack a titan, much less an abnormal. Everything else runs as soon as they hear them."

Eyebrows turned to Hanji, "Did you figure out how the titan went into convulsions?"

Hanji nodded happily, "Yes, these winged cats have an antibody in their saliva that attacks the sicora's brain and nervous system. I didn't think that anything could ever poison my titans." My titans?

There had been something in our saliva that caused those seizures? That was a surprise. Apparently, Mace had been correct about the cause of the seizures, despite how unlikely fathomable that theory had seemed at the time.

Levi scoffed, "Tch, I am glad that it can't poison humans or anything else, damn brats."

A hard knocking sounded, and I lowered myself.

"Tch, come in." The door opened at Levi's invitaton, and another human entered the room. His blonde hair and blue eyes standing out from the rest. He did some type of.. Salute? Before eyebrows nodded at him.

He took a seat near Levi, which he scoffed at and moved his chair away form the younger human. I will have a dandy fun time here, having humans breathing down my neck 24/7 is sure going to be good for my mental state..
