"No! You're not going! I wouldn't get to see you for months! It could be over a year! I won't have it!" I leapt from the bed and threw on a robe before I began to pace the room.

"Lana, listen to me." He pleaded, jumping up as well and grabbing my hands gently. I looked him up and down angrily.

"Put on a shirt first. You know I can't focus when your abs are out." I maintained my angry composure as a grin spread across his face and he did as he was told.

"Jeon Jungkook, you are not joining the Korean army!" I stuck a finger in his face.

"Lana, please" he sighed. "Understand where I'm coming from."

I huffed and sat on the bed. He took a seat next to me and held the letter in his hands.

"I want to go. I need to do something that counts. I still don't have enough money to go back to school, and it's a privilege to serve." His eyes searched for understanding in mine. He looked so pained.

"Jungkook, I have money from the trial–"

"No, Lana. I couldn't ask you to do that. You've already done so much for me." He grabbed my hand.

"When would you have to go?" I asked, fearing the answer as I eyed the letter in his hands.

"Two weeks."

I let out a long breath as I thought it over. "Ok."

"Ok? Ok what?"

"Go. Serve. Go, if that's what you want." I nodded.

"Lana, c'mon, don't do this. Don't hate me."

"I don't." I kissed his cheek and offered a sad smile. "I understand. But."

"But?"

"You'd better do this right. No coming home early. You go until the end. You work hard. You make me proud." I said firmly.

"Yes, ma'am." He saluted.

"Promise me, Kook." I tugged on his arm.

"I promise. And cheese?"

"Yes?"

"You too. No giving up. No shutting people out. You work hard. Save lives. Make me prouder than I already am, if that's possible."

"Kookie, I promise." I smiled and kissed his lips lightly.

"Good. Now let's make the most out of these two weeks."
