Chapter 40.

 Toby's P.O.V

I stood patiently in the doorway, trying to catch my breath from all the running I just did. My car had decided to stop halfway to her house.

I shoudln't have let her walk away in the first place.

****Flashback****

I was about to go after Veronica's moving body but John stopped me. "Don't."

I glared at him. " Don't tell me what to do."

He rolled his eyes at me and stood in front of me with crossed arms.

"I know her more than you. She's just...." He trailed of, leaving me on the edged.

"She's just what?"

"I know that look on her face." He sighed. "She's having second thoughts about something. It could be about anything at the moment."

The worst scenario came to mind. She's having second thoughts about us.

"That's why I should be there with her."

"Give her sometime to think. She will feel pressured if you're just watching over her like a hawk."

I groaned. I can give her time. Easy.

**********

Okay, so it's not as easy as I thoughts. I had called and texted her multiple of times but she wouldn't answer.

I was back at my house. I had called the guys and asked them about what was the best thing to do at the moment.

Everyone said I should give her time. Except for Nate. She just shrugged and laid down on the couch, putting his feet up.

I was pacing around the living room. I can't give her time. I want her to talk to me. To feel that she can trust me.

"I can't do this guys. I can't give her time. My balls are sweating for sake's. What if she regrets everything she said. What if she doesn't really love me. What if I made her turn lesbian. Oh God!" I kept on ranting until Nate cut me off.

"Dude. Shut. Up." He groaned and covered his face with a pillow. "You sound like motherfucking girl."

"You're not helping."

"I never said I was." He mocked back. I threw him a pillow but he just ignored it.

"You know what. Screw time. I'm going to go talk to her." I got my keys from the coffee table and started to head out.

A new voice joined. "Nathan. Get your feet of my couch."

I turned around and the guys all stood up to look at my mom descending down the stairs.

"Hey, mom." We all said at the same time. They were all comfortable with my mom.

"Hello, boys." She greeted them and then turned to look at me. "Be gentle with her son. Us girls have difficult mood swings. And having second thoughts is always one. But be the person to show her that their won't be an option when it comes to your love."

I walked up to her and gave her hug. "Thanks, mom."

She rubbed my back. "You are very welcome."
