Cally's POV
"WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER STAND A LITTLE TALLER! DOESN'T MEAN I'M LONLEY WHEN I'M ALONE!"My music was blaring throughout the whole house. Anything to keep me from hearing her voice. She came home about an hour ago and the only thing she said to me was "I'm back." I gave her a smirk and ran up to my room. I don't care for her. She doesn't care for me. It works out perfectly.
A knock came to my door and after I paused my music, it flung open.
"Hey mom said come down for dinner." The voice sounded a little squeaky and different from the last time I heard it. I missed Madison's voice though.
"Ok tell her I'll be there in a minute."
"She said come down immediately. I think you may be in trouble too."
"Ugh what did I do now?!"
I head out the door and Madison lets out a little giggle. Man I missed that.
"I don't know I've been gone for 3 months." She giggled again. I couldn't help but smile. She always made a negative thing turn into a positive thing no matter how bad it was.
"Shut up. Don't get smart on me." I give her a playful push and she pushes me back.
"I missed you Cal."
"I missed you too Maddy."
She gives me a hug then we walk into the kitchen. My mom stood next to my chair, tapping her foot. She was pissed. All that could run through my mind was what did I do?
I pretend I don't see her and get a plate. Her foot continues to tap and I hear giggles from behind her.
"Mom you okay over there? Maybe you should get that foot checked out."
I look over at Demi and see her laughing. Wow something I said actually made her laugh. I need an award or a round of applause.
"Don't play dumb on me. You know why I'm mad."
"No I don't. I don't know what you're talking about."
"Remember when you said you were going to Alex's but I said stay home and CLEAN?"
"Oh thank god. I thought you found out about the bodies in the basement."
Everyone burst out laughing. Dallas's face was turning bright red and Madison almost spit out her drink.
"THE WHAT??!"
"Chill mom I'm joking. And besides, you never told me WHAT to clean. The house looks spotless."
"Whatever. Get some food and sit down."
I do as she says and get food. We have special seats at the table. We've been living in this house for 6 years and when we first had dinner, we all chose randomly and since then, we haven't changed. Of course my seat had to be next to Demi's.
I sit down and everyone grabs each other's hand. We say the prayer and start eating. It's silent at first but my mom asks a question.
"So, Demi, how was Demi world tour?"
Ughhhhhh here we go again.
"IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! MY FANS ARE AWESOME!! At one of my shows I couldn't see a single seat open and...."
That's all I heard before I drew myself out of the conversation. She went on, and on, and on, almost the whole dinner. All I could think of how selfish she sounded. She's going to have to go back after Christmas. She hasn't made it all around the world yet. Demi just didn't want to miss Christmas with her family. She missed Thanksgiving with us, but she got to FaceTime us. Well them. I stayed in my room.
I feel a kick at my legs. Demi kicked me.
"OW WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"
"I was trying to get your attention but you were too busy in your thoughts. What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"
That makes me laugh. For one, my head isn't pretty. Two, I'm not telling her anything. No matter how hard it was hurting me. I don't trust her.
"Nothing. What were you going to ask me?"
"No you must've been deep in thoughts, what's in your head?"
"Demi please, I don't want to talk about it."
She looks back down at mom then looks at her plate of food. I see a tear fall from her eyes. I didn't understand why she was crying.
I look over at mom and she gives me the head motion towards Demi, which was the 'apologize' head motion. I groan.
"Sorry Demi."
"It's fine, it's just," she wipes under her eyes. "I missed you. I missed hanging out with you and being away from you for 3 months made me realize how bad of a sister I was. Just don't shut me out ok?"
That was such an act. She doesn't care for me. She can play any character and master it so this was a 'Lets be nice to Cally' character. None of that was true. She NEVER missed me. She NEVER missed hanging out with me. She will NEVER realize how bad of a sister she is. And I will NEVER not shut her out. I'm nothing to her.
"Yeah ok." I pick up my plate and go to the sink and rinse off my plate. I put it in the dishwasher, then I was gone like a light.
Demi's POV
"Was she like this when I was gone?""Demi, she's always been like this, since the day she was born."
Everyone giggles. It felt good to be home. But I needed to fix things between me and Cal.
"Maybe you should go talk to her." Dallas suggested. "I mean, you have changed a little since the beginning of tour and you barley got to see her in between the Neon Lights tour and this one."
"You're right. But after dinner. I'm starving."
I hear People Like Us start playing from upstairs. I missed her and her loud music.
Cally's POV
Music was the only way I could get out of troubles. And it always makes it to where they can't hear me crying. I cry almost every night, straight into my pillow. I told mom that I couldn't sleep without music, which is a lie cuz I always end up staying up until 2am jamming out to music but that's not the point, I didn't want her to hear me crying.I'll admit it, I did miss Demi. But that was only 2% of the time that she was gone. The other 98%, I was living happy.
"There's an S under my clothes, on my dress....."
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Don't let her hear this. Omg. Omg. Omg. I don't want her to know I have one of her songs. Well the whole album. STUPID SHUFFLE!
I quickly jumped out of bed and hit the next button on my phone.
"All I needs a little love in my life, all I needs....." Thank god for Rixton.
Someone then knocks on my door. I pause my music and yell "Who is it?!"
"It's Demi."
"Ummm....don't come in, I'm not dressed." Hopefully that'll keep her away. No way in hell I'm gonna talk to her.
"Ok, just, come to my room when you're done."
I hear footsteps go across the floor, slowly fading away. BYEEEEEEEEEE!
I'm not going in there. I don't want to talk to her. I just want to be alone in my room. Nobody to bother me.
Yeah let's see how long that'll last.
