The four of them parted to head at his own house; they decided together not to tell their parents. Instead, they opted for writing simple letters; no, it wasn't right in this way, but, there was nothing else they could do. Whatever would have happened, they were going anyway; no one could stop them at that point. (Maybe Fred was still reluctant, but Deaky would have killed him if he had refused, so, there weren't other chances for the older)

When Roger arrived at home, his parents were waiting for him; the concern in their eyes was more than just noticeable: it was totally infusing the house. The atmosphere felt uneasy till his mother was sure Roger hadn't been hurt. By the time his mum smiled, he wanted to believe everything was ok, but it was not. He was given a special scarf which his parents bought abroad; apparently, the city where they had stayed, was known for its velvety fabrics. The first thing he put in his bag was right that present; at least he would have had a reminder of his family, his home. It took him a while to finally be able to finish that sack; he didn't really know what he needed to bring with him, so, to be sure, he called Brian a few times... (Of course, after the 10th one the older was quite disappointed; in fact, Roger wasn't the only one who wanted some guidance, but also Freddie and John kept phoning him from time to time)

Deaky was doing well with getting ready: indeed, nervousness was eating him from the inside... He was on the verge of cry: that desire of shouting out loud what was going to happen was trying to make its way in his mind. He didn't actually know the reason why, a while ago, he yelled that he and Fred would have gone with the other two crazies; the truth was that he had a nervous feeling growing inside as he felt more and more under pressure. But he knew well he had made a promise, and he couldn't just throw it in the trash because of his fears; he could have lost his best friends, and, maybe, the love of his life. It was too much for him to describe his crush in that way, but it was the only words which fitted him; Freddie, that amazing singer and, hell, a pretty hot guy was having him crazy, but you've been told nothing about. He didn't want to just leave everything he had, neither because he allowed his friends to do this alone, nor because he actually went with them but, in return, he had to lie to his parents. He felt bad either ways; actually, there was nothing he could really do in such a situation, he could only accept it, whether he desired it or not. Eventually, he finished preparing his bag.

Fred, instead, didn't felt that different: he was facing a crossroad while his back was against a wall. He was coming simply because of Deaky; he did care too much about the younger. I mean, he was too pure for that cruel world much less to deal with a bunch of assholes aliens. He felt like he had to protect that little angel, and he couldn't do it staying in his comfortable couch watching some Netflix. He had to do it just for the younger... On the other hand, he felt pretty curious: he had seen one of those aliens the day before, and, they got his attention. What else could he do? His mind had definitely won over him when he was done with getting ready.

What was the crazy poodle doing at this point? He wasn't thinking; his focus was all addressed to Dominique while he was trying to come up with a good plan; it would have been easy to do that "trip", the only flaw was how to find them... He needed to figure it out before they had to leave, but, as much as he attempted, nothing good came to him; that would have been the only time when he would have improvised. So, this is how time went by for the four friends.

Finally, after lunch, Brian, Roger, Freddie and Deaky, met in the crazy scientist's back garden. There was anxiousness between them, they all know the riskiness of that trip.

"I mean, guys, you can still refuse..."

"Oh, shut up! The question is how are we gonna do this."

Brian raised his hand in surrender, then, he took a long breath. He put his hands in his sack.

"That thing is a remote control, darling..."

"Nope, not just a remote control Fred; this will let us do what we have to. Wanna see how it works?"

"Not one of your science lectures, please."

The blond guy crossed his arms while talking.

"It looked like Freddie needed an explanation. Whatever, this works just thanks to one "table", as Roger calls it, in my lab. Actually, both this remote control and the "table" are some kind of alien technology; when I received this, I was told that it didn't work, so, well, I managed to repair it."

"This sounds so nerdy of you."

"I think you're right Deaky..."

"So, what are we waiting for Brian?"

The guitarist nodded at the blond question, who began to laugh as he heard Freddie gulping.

"You're shit-scared, aren't you?"

Fred crossed his arms.

"No, and to demonstrate this, I'll be the first one!"

"If Fred is the first, I'll be second."

"Then, you can be the last one, Roger."

Brian laughed.

"No! I'll go right after Deaky!"

"Okok... Now, pay attention and see."

Brian turned to face one of his home walls; he pointed the little remote control, and, after he clicked a red button, a violet portal was opened. Il looked like a big gash in the wall: a window to other dimensions.

"Freddie, weren't you the one who was supposed to go first?"

Roger smirked as the other one shook his head.

"Gimme the time, darling!"

The other three saw their friend sighing before walking to go through the portal.

"Well, I guess it's my turn now..."

Deaky said while looking at the others; they nodded at him, and so, he run towards the portal.

"What are we gonna do now?"

Roger asked, with his mind was flooded with excitement.

"We'll travel where time won't be able to reach us."

Fear couldn't overtake their minds: Dominique was what really mattered in those few seconds.

"You know this is bullshit?"

"The best one."

And then, the two of them crossed the portal.
