Within an hour of wandering in that mysterious woods, the curly-haired guy noticed something like a sunset; that spot in the sky, which he supposed to be the sun, was slowly making its way behind the trees, and so, the night came down. He noticed a feeling of weariness making his way through his body and muscles; the blond guy walking next to him was just as tired; you could tell from his sleepy eyes. Somewhere along the line, the two of them heard a strange noise; the sky was now completely dark, and so, the woods wasn't a safe place anymore.
"We should take a rest... It's too dark to walk safely. I've seen a cave not much far from here; it should be a good place to sleep in."
Roger's heartbeat was so fast that not even a single sound could escape his lips, so he nodded his head quickly. Though, he didn't know he wasn't the only one scared between the two of them. Even if the idea of the cave made him nervous, the single thing he wanted, was to sleep. Suddenly, the younger felt a strong grip on his wrist, he leapt up from the fear.
"Calm down Rog, it's just me."
The younger was told while being dragged to the cave. After a few minutes of walking surrounded by strange shapes and horrifying noises which made the two wish the cave was nearer, they arrived there. The two of them sighed in relief even if Roger's heart wasn't giving him a single moment of peace; to be honest, his worst fear was the night woods (he should have added the adjective alien too...). The only slight thought which was having him rather relaxed was Brian; the older had the power of making him feel that way and he knew why, even if he was still ashamed about that reason he was giving himself. After getting in the lonely den, they settled themself; wait, Brian settled himself since Roger was just following him everywhere because of the fear.
"We can sleep together if you're worried, Rog..."
The other suddenly made two steps back. This was his worst fear: who cares about the cave when you remember your little problem with sleepwalking and you're going to sleep with the guy you have a crush on?
"I'm... I'm not scared at all, Brian!"
He said, pretending to be pissed off.
"If you say so... That is your sleeping bed; I've set up a little alarm in case that something from the woods enters."
He pointed a spot to the younger, who gulped.
"Goodnight then..."
The blonde walked slowly to the sleeping bag and laid in it. He couldn't really fight with his urge of sleeping: he was craving some rest and not even the fear of him sleepwalking got him. He fell asleep almost suddenly. Brian instead, was desperately waiting for the other to sleepwalk: he used the excuse of fear to convince the other, but the blond was prideful. He laid in his sleeping bag, trying to shake out of his mind those thoughts; it was weird but he couldn't fight them.
As expected, the blonde woke up next to Brian, enveloped in a tight and warm embrace. The curly guy was already awake.
"Goodmorning sleeping beauty, wasn't I told yesterday you were going to sleep alone?"
The latter's cheeks were burning hot. He got up suddenly, his mind feeling dizzy because of that.
"We should go search for Fred and Deaks! Stop wasting time, Brian!"
He said, quickly going to put everything in his sack to get ready,
"That's right."
The oldest would have preferred to stay a little bit more with the younger in his embrace, but, they had a lot of things to do: it wasn't time to think about that kind of stuff. On the other hand, the blond felt his cheeks even hotter when he remembered the dream he had the following night. He was blaming himself.
"Should I be disgusted?"
He looked at the other; he felt butterflies in his stomach and a feeling of repugnance for what was happening at that moment. He turned himself immediately.
"I shouldn't think of him this way!"
He was literally screaming at himself, but desires were stronger than any single scold he could give himself. In the end, the only possible option was trying to ignore the older, and he knew well it would have hurt both. The other guy instead, was used to that kind of situation, he didn't break up with Dominique because he was up to; he did it because he had that feeling, that persistent uneasy sensation which was ruling his thoughts. He had fallen in love with Roger and he couldn't help but just accept it.
After a few minutes, the two of them, in awkward silence, began to search for their friends who, this time, were walking in the right direction.
"Do you think we'll find them?"
"You have to be patient Deaky..."
John felt not only anxious, but the fear of losing his friends also made him more and more nervous. However, Fred was optimist, and that reassured Deaky a bit. (The only reason why Fred was happy was the little alien cat, which was purring softly; he was glad to have found that tiny creature). Walking made the woods look even bigger; it felt like hours since they got up and began to pace in that hugeness.
"What was that?"
They heard something moving through the blue and violet grass.
"Stay still. Be quiet..."
Fred took a long breath and looked around; it looked like there wasn't anything. The younger nodded his head slowly, but suddenly, a new noise came. Their attention was now directed to a particular tree, and, it was at that moment when a group of three aliens arrived. Their eyes widened at the vision; the first thought was running away, but they just couldn't.
