Roger got up after the best sleep he had in his whole life. The sunlight coming from the window made him open his eyes. The bad he had been sleeping in, felt much comfortable than when he went to sleep. It took him a few minutes before he was able to get the details of the room. He wanted to stretch himself; he yawned, but, suddenly noticed someone's arm wrapped around his waist. His heart skipped a bit when he got the situation; he hated his sleepwalking. He took a long and deep breath; he wanted to come back to his bed, but, at the same time, he didn't want to wake up the other sleeping boy. He breathed again to calm his heartbeat down.
"Slowly so he won't wake up."
He was attempting to slip out that soft and cosy bed, but, the arm around him pulled Roger more to Brian's flat chest. The blond guy gulped as he felt closer and closer to the eldest. He loved that strong embrace, but, how would have the eldest reacted? He was really concerned. After he had understood there was no way he could get out of that situation, he simply tried to calm himself down. He eventually fell asleep again. This time, it was the two of them waking up at once. Roger's head was resting on Brian's; he had turned on his right hip while sleeping, so he now was facing the eldest chest.
Slowly, Brian opened his eyes, a feeling of happiness was flooding in his whole body; during his sleep, his mind brought a beautiful dream to him. At some point, he felt his arm wrapped around Roger; it hadn't been a dream. He was freaking out: how did it happen? He was trying to bring back memories; he could only remember Roger talking in his sleep and getting up to come to his bed. When the younger laid next to him, he did his best to stay as far as he could from the other, but, while he was unconscious, his mind decided by itself. The real question was: how to get out that situation? Roger looked to be still resting; if he had moved his arm, the youngest would have been got up. Besides, he had his back against the cold room wall; he could only wait for the other one to get up, maybe could have explained the situation. His heart was racing: what a situation... He was closing his eyes shut when he noticed a pair of cerulean eyes staring at him; the blond guy suddenly got up.
"I think I'll get downstairs... Yesterday your mother told me to go there for breakfast."
Roger said while running down the stairs; he felt his cheeks burning red. Meanwhile, Brian, discouraged, sighed: he got up slowly to finally get downstairs as well. In the kitchen, his mother, as expected, prepared the biggest breakfast she could; it was really strange how Brian could be so skinny with such large meals... They ate their breakfast in silence, still ashamed of what had happened before.
"Here's the news about what occurred yesterday..."
The two guys noticed Brian's mother had turned on the television.
"What seems to have happened yesterday is an alien invasion, but the government isn't really sure of it. After the accident, the police began to investigate; up to now, researches have led nowhere. What we are assured of, is the kidnapping of several adolescents..."
At that moment, viewers were shown pictures of the disappeared teenagers: between them, there was a photo of Dominique. Roger and Brian freaked out.
"Is she... Dominique?"
The tow of them looked at each other. In them, anger grew up; they had a mixed feeling of concern and fury.
"Does it mean that they have..."
Brian nodded.
"We have to talk with Fred and Deaky. I'm calling them..."
Later that morning, they get out of the house to meet their two friends. Actually, Brian had only invited them to his house; they needed to talk in the lab. Now they were all gathered; Freddie was sitting on a chair, while Roger and Deaky were on a table.
"Roger already knows what has happened yesterday, so, it is just fair for you to understand as well..."
The three of them were all ears; Brian did his best to make the situation as clear as possible.
"No, wait for a second, darling... You're asking us to come with you and Roger in a suicide mission just because his best friend and your ex has been kidnapped by a bunch of aliens? I hope you're joking, dear..."
Deaky instead, was completely silent.
"No, I'm not asking you to come... I was thinking of going alone..."
"What the heck are you talking about Mr. crazy poodle!? I won't let you do it by yourself..."
"I don't know if you got the riskiness of it, Rog."
"No! You're the one who didn't get it... You're not going alone, Brian!"
Freddie stood up suddenly.
"Oh, don't be so fucking ridiculous, darlings! Neither of you is going alone since you won't leave..."
He said, bothered.
"I'm sorry but, I've already taken my decision. And, most of all, you're not coming with me, Roger."
"She is my best friend Brian! I'm the one who should go! You have broken up with her, you don't have to go!"
"Yes, I have to... It's all my fault... I shouldn't have left her alone in that classroom."
"Stop your nonsense."
They were cut off by Deaky.
"Freddie and I are coming with you two, crazies."
"Nono, wait, Deaky!"
John glared at Freddie: in that second, Freddie understood he had no chances other than really go with them. Brian sighed.
"Well, if you planned to come with us, you should get prepared; take everything you would need, but don't take too much with you. Better, we are splitting up roles."
For the first time, they were getting organised: Freddie was going to have a sack with dresses and stuff like that, John was going to bring food, Roger would have had to take other kinds of necessity, while Brian was going to take science stuff and whatever could have been useful."These are the roles. Now go back home and get ready; we're leaving after lunch."
