A Cause for Celebration

We pull up to the house and we head into the house. Before Mom and I go to the back, she turns to face Dad.

"I love you. Please. Be careful, Damon." They kiss and I groan.

"Can we please hurry, Mom?" Dad kisses my head then we head to the back.

"Now before we do this, I want to tell you something." I nod.

"Your Dad doesn't agree, but he's willing to compromise with me." Are they going to...

"We're allowing you to date under certain conditions. As long as you follow our dating rules." I smile and run into her arms.

"Thank you mom." I hug her and she kisses my head.

"Remember. When Dad gives the signal, go inside." I nod. I listen into Dad's conversation, and I know Mom does the same.

"I love you Ember. I hope you know that."

"I love you too Mom. Please don't leave me again." She smiles at me.

"I'm not going anywhere, baby." I smile at her back then I keep listening.

"If you're here to avenge your wife, you're wasting your time." I flash into the house and I wait behind a wall.

"Who says I came alone?" I step out of the shadows. Klaus turns around.

"Well Damon, you've got yourself a beautiful daughter. Boys are going to drop dead when she walks by. Emily is it?"

"Ember." He chuckles a little.

"What's so funny? Dog got your bone? Or did you scare him off with your heavy bark?" I mock his accent and he glares at me.

"Careful love. Someday you'll meet someone who won't hesitate to kill you on the spot. Mocking my voice won't help." I laugh.

"You deserve everything that you're gonna get. I lost my mother. You're a psychotic serial killer that made my life a living hell. And just like you, I get my temper from my Daddy. Except your Daddy was a werewolf wasn't he? I guess your temper would be worse than mine." He growls then flashes toward me. I flash across the room and I laugh.

"Careful Klaus. Someday you'll meet someone who won't hesitate to kill you on the spot." Uncle Tyler, Uncle Elijah, Uncle Matt, Grandpa Ric, Uncle Stefan, Aunt Caroline, and Aunt Bonnie.

"Huh. I guess today's that day." I say. Dad and Uncle Stefan grab his arms while Aunt Bonnie does that witch migraine thingy. I help by snapping his leg making him scream, then I snap the other leg.

"Looks like you'll be the one to kill me."

"Not quite, dog." I step out of the way and Mom appears out of the shadows.

"No. It's not possible."

"And before you ask, I'm not Katherine." He breathes out shakily.

"Ember, I don't want you to see this."

"I'm not going anywhere." I snap.

"Ember, go!"

"No!" My crystal blue eyes glimmer with rage, so she gives up. Klaus laughs.

"She wants to watch her mother kill me. I guess growing up with a self proclaimed serial killer as a Daddy rubs off on you." Mom laughs.

"Well, at least he knows how to love. You know, there are some vampires in this world that have humanity. Even hybrids. You know, I've wanted to have more children. I'm in love with Damon. And we love our daughter. And we know she wants siblings. But it was too dangerous to bring a baby into this hell of a world. It's a bad world because you're in it." He smiles and chuckles, looking around at everyone.
