It's A Girl

I get up and I rub my eyes. Damian and I talked a little bit over the last 2 months, but we're still over. Now I'm 16 weeks along (or 4 months, whatever) and I'm showing now. People don't judge, mostly because they know who the father is and that if they even tried to touch me, verbally or physically, he'd kill them. Not even exaggerating. Also, today's the second OBGYN since I found out about the pregnancy. I'm pretty sure Mom's pregnant, but I'm not completely sure.

I smile at the little 4 month bump. It's noticeable, but not like 9 month noticeable. After showering, I put on a pair of jeans with an elastic waistband and I put on a black t-shirt. Cool fact, they make band shirts for pregnant women. Which is lucky for me. I put on a pair of vans then I go downstairs. Mom smiles at me and I look curiously at her.

"What?" I grin.

"I have a new little sibling." I take a bite of the apple in my hand then I laugh at her shocked expression.

"Does dad know?" She copies Dad's smirk perfectly and shakes her head. Just then, he comes down the stairs.

"What is it?"

"Nothing," I say, taking little bites out of the apple.

"Seriously?"

"Bye." I head out of the house and down to my car. Mom must be about 2 months along if Dad hasn't noticed yet.

When I pull into the parking lot, I see Tessa and Lainey waiting for me. Lainey is Tessa's friend that is a huge suck up to me now. It's actually kinda comforting, knowing that Tessa's friends want to seek acceptance from me, but also kinda hurts my feelings, because it makes me feel like a tyrant of some sort. I don't know. We go inside and I walk a little faster when I hear Damian call out to me. Lainey and Tessa guard me at my locker.

"I just need to talk to her."

"Too bad. She doesn't want to talk to you."

"You see that baby bump? I put it there."

"TMI."

"Move." I feel Lainey move aside.

"You too." Tessa laughs.

"You can't compel me. Hybrid perk."

"I just-"

"No." I sigh then turn around to face Lainey.

"Forget what they just said. Damian didn't come up to you. You stood behind me and guarded me as I got my things from my locker." We start for the science classroom. Damian runs after me. He stops in front of me but my best friend gets there faster.

"Not going to happen." I see her eyes turn yellow and the veins run down her face.

"I hope you're aware that one bite from a hybrid kills a vampire. So if you even prick your finger on one of these bad boys you're as good as dead unless Ember gets her original hybrid bodyguard to heal you." He shakes his head.

"What is it you're trying to protect her from?"

"I want to protect her from getting more hurt."

"She's not hurt, she's pregnant! Last time I checked, that's not hurt! She isn't dying, Tessa!" I hug my books to my chest then I run to class. I sit down and the bell rings. Damian drops an envelope on my desk. I stuff it into my binder and I pay attention to class. After class, I get up quickly, but Damian is relentless.

"Ember. Ember! Wait!" I turn around.

"I have an OBGYN appointment after school. Meredith said that we might be able to tell the gender. If you want to come, meet me in my car after school." I walk off and he doesn't follow this time.

After school, I get into my car and I put the key into the ignition. The car door opens and he slides into the passenger.

"You decided to come?"

"I'm not missing this for the world, Em." I smile a little at him. I drive to the hospital in dead, cold, silence. It's awkward but not... I can't choose.

Soon we pull up to the hospital and I get out with him.

"You might want to stay behind me."

"Why?"

"Well, you know, I'm 16, I'm pregnant, you got me that way, my Dad's super protective over me, so you're on his hit list right now."

"Ah." He states. "I see." We go into the hospital and I see my parents waiting for me. Mom keeps a death grip on Dad as he death glares Damian. Damien reaches for me. I smile at him.

"What the-"

"Dad." I snap. I shoot him the coldest glare I can muster. He stops tensing but still stares coldly at Damian. We go inside the room and Meredith smiles at all of us.

"Are you ready, Em?" I nod nervously, a smile on my face. I hop up on the table and I lift up my shirt. Damian sits down next to me and looks scared as hell.

"It's okay." I take his hand and I squeeze it gently. We both look up at the screen and Meredith rubs the cold blue gel on my stomach then moves the camera around. Her eyes shift to the screen then she smiles.

"There. There's your baby." Damian and I both stare up at it.

"What is it?" She smiles then looks back down at us.

"It's a girl." I release a shaky breath. She cleans off my stomach then prints out 2 copies of the ultrasound. I take a few breaths then I get up and head out of the office.

"Ember?" Mom calls. I hear her footsteps, but my vampire capabilities already have me out the door and in my car. I pull out of the parking lot and I speed away.

GUYS.... IF YOU DID NOT WATCH PRAYER FOR THE DYING, AHHHHHH!!!!!! DELENA FEELS ARE SO REAL FOR THIS EPISODE!!!! ELENA STILL FELL FOR HIM EVEN IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE MEMORIES!!!! That's love people... That's love. Sorry this was a little bit shorter, guess which two lovebirds are flying in a duet soon...
