I stood there speechless as he looks at me.

"W-What?"

"I want to break up." Damian grabs his suitcase and heads for the door.

"I don't want to be tied down in high school." He flashes out and I go into my room. I sink down to the floor and I bury my face in my hands. This is too much for me to handle. I flash out of the house and I walk along the street, lost and feeling empty. Someone comes behind me.

"Are you okay?" I turn around to see some random stranger. A stupid stranger.

"No. But I will be." I flash him my fangs then I sink them into his neck. I don't remember having fangs. Maybe it's because I'm upset and angry. I drink from him until the last drop of blood runs down my throat. I drop him then guilt floods my mind. I drag him into an ally then I pull out my phone. I dial Dad.

"Ember?"

"Daddy... don't wake Mom up. But I need you."

"Where are you?"

"I'm on Signata Road in an ally between the only 2 restaurants on the street."

"Where's Damian?"

"He left. He told me that he didn't want to be tied down then he left."

"I'll be there soon, baby." He hangs up and I curl into a ball.

"Ember?" I hear my Dad's calm voice and I bury my head in my knees. He sees me.

"Ember, what-"

"I killed him. He's dead. I... I killed someone and I liked it." I look up at him my eyes full of tears.

"Why did I have to be born like this?" He sits down and pulls me into his arms.

"I'm a monster." I whisper. He chuckles a little.

"Ember, you are far from a monster. By the time I had been a vampire for 25 years, and by that point I had lost track of how many people I had killed." I bury my head deeper into his chest.

"Daddy, I'm scared." He kisses my head.

"You'll be okay," he murmurs softly, "I promise you." He buries the body then puts me in the car and we drive home. He carries me inside and Mom comes out of their bedroom groggy.

"Emmy? Baby what happened?" I can't respond because I'm still in a sort of shock.

"Damon-"

"Go back to bed. I'll tell you in a minute." She nods and he brings me into my bathroom. He cleans up my face then pulls a pair of pajama pants on me.

"I'm sorry about Damian." Tears flow down my cheeks.

"I knew when I met him it was too good to be true. I don't deserve to be loved. I didn't deserve him." He gently strokes my face.

"Ember Rose, that is not true. He didn't deserve you. You're good. He's not. And this whole time he was lying to you."

"About what?"

"He wasn't born. He was turned. By who, I don't know but... He acted differently." I nod.

"I don't care. Not about him. Not anymore." He kisses my head.

"I won't tell you to. You don't have to. Not of you don't want to." I give him a small smile.

"I love you Daddy." He gives me a smile back.

"I love you too, baby." He turns out the light and leaves my room.

Sorry it's short, but I have some bad news. I'm going to be putting Reckless Minds on hold for a little while. Sorry to do this on Christmas, but I'm having trouble coming up with new ideas for new chapters. I will continue, but it's on hold for now.
