I wake up with tears falling down my face. I sit up and I gently rub my baby bump.

It's been 4 months since Tessa came to Paris and told us about Tyler cheating on Caroline. 4 months since we moved to Paris.

Today is the day Damon leaves to go find Silas. I don't tell him, but I'm worried that he'll miss Damien's birth, because he's due around this time. I wipe my eyes as Damon wakes up and he sits up with me.

"What are you doing up so early?" I shake my head then I break out in tears.

"Elena. Hey, come here. He kisses my head and whispers sweet nothings to me.

"Elena, I'm going to come back to you. I love you. I'll be here when Damien's born. But I have to protect you, baby." I calm my breathing and I stare up at him.

"I don't want you to leave. What if Damien comes while you're gone?"

"I want to protect you. I have to. I have to go."

"I'm not going to stop you or support you, Damon. All I'm gonna say is I love you. And if you die I will kill you." He laughs.

"I love you too Elena." I get up and giggle.

"Damien just woke up." I say. He starts kicking me and I laugh.

"Oh! Damon, control your son." He smiles and gently kisses my stomach.

"Go easy on Mama, okay little man?" I stretch and shake off the little pains I have.

Soon Damon and I are both cleaned up and he's packed. I fight back tears as he grabs the bag off his bed.

"Remember, Alaric, Tyler, and Stefan are all coming with me." I sigh.

"Damon, I just want you here. I love you." It's his turn to sigh.

"But I'm not going to stop you." He leans down and presses his lips to mine. I tangle my fingers in his raven mane and when we pull away, he moves his hands down to my bump.

"I'm coming back to all 3 of you. I'm going to hang around and be a cocky jackass for a long time." I laugh. My heart drops when I hear a car pull up.

"Come on." He links our fingers together and we go downstairs. Ember sits on the couch with Stella.

"What are you doing up, Emmy?" She turns around and stands up.

"I couldn't sleep last night." She runs into Damon's arms and starts crying.

"Please don't go, Daddy. Please." He leans down and softly kisses her head.

"I'm coming back, Ember. I swear I'm coming back to you, and to Mom and to Damien. I love you all. I promise." We walk outside and I smile at Stefan, Alaric, and Tyler.

"Hey guys." I hug each of them.

"Don't worry, Elena. We'll get him back to you." Ric tells me. I feel more tears flood down my cheeks then I pull away and smile at him.

"Thank you." I turn to Damon and Ember. She cries into her shirt and he kisses her head.

"I'll be back, baby. I won't be gone for long." She pulls away and nods then hugs the other 3. He turns to me. First he squats down to my stomach.

"Hey Damien, don't leave Mom while I'm gone, okay? You better be right there when I get back." I smile as he kisses my stomach gently. He stands up and stares down at me.

"I love you, Elena." I pull his lips to mine and he wraps his arms around my waist. When we pull away, he wipes away my tears and kisses my forehead.
