Lillian's POV

Lestrade had informed us there was no known company, underground, government or a private one, with the trademark we saw on the baseboard. Sherlock has found no possible place in Peterborough for the men to get away. Our last chance would be able to find a newly furnished house that was deduced from the tile chemicals, concrete powder and wall paint.

There has been no news as well that would raise questions in my case so, it has arrived to yet another dead end. How interesting, really.

Sherlock and Dr. Watson were mostly out for their mysteries. I was to be left here in the flat to keep myself away from danger. I spent my time reading the books in Sherlock's shelf. It also differed in genre, from the dictionary to the world almanac from five years ago, from the scientific encyclopedia to the greatest mathematicians of all time, etc. At the moment, I was hooked to a book about compounds and chemicals.

One morning, while I was heavily focused on reading, there was a knock on the door.

"Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson are out. You can come back later," I told whoever was at the door.

"As they always are, but I am not here for them," a gruffy voice replied back.

I looked up from where I sat on the floor and saw a besuited man, an umbrella and folder in his hand.

I studied him but only one thing came out. Is here for business.

"They are the only residents in this flat, mister. I'm only a caretaker," I said, not breaking eye contact.

"No, you're another of their clients. I've seen your file, Ms. Morris." He started to walk around the flat, glancing up and down on the walls.

He turns again to me. "Compelling, it is. I have re-"

"And you are?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Here to inform you that you've been involved in a critical situation. You migh-"

"Oh thank you for notifying me. It's not like I'm aware of that for the past weeks." I stood up and walked past the man to the kitchen.

"You have noticed then the surveillance upon you. There are people out there who has been monitoring whene-"

"Tea?" I offered.

He lets out a breath. His reactions were giving satisfactions to my mischievous part. I quickly removed the smile in my face.

"No, thank you."

"You were saying about me being stalked?"

"Monitored," he corrected.

"Same thing." I shrugged.

"Ms. Morris, it would be very grateful for both of our parts if you would just keep yourself silent for a while and let me speak."

"Alright, Mr. Stranger. Go for it."

He rolled his eyes and placed the folder on the clear part of the table.

"That is everything we have on you and the parties you have been involved, aka your parents. Sherlock must have told you by now they are part of a cooperative, yes both of them are. We presumed that your mother has been killed for going against, and your father-"

I sipped on my tea a little too loudly which made him pause.

"-is in hiding. He has been seen a couple times before until he left the city to go somewhere in Cambridge two days ago-"

"Question." I raised my hand. "Do you know the name of the cooperative because that info would be more helpful?"

"You have the file in front of you, why don't you see-"
