As a foresight, Childhood Heroes (A BBC Sherlock fanfiction) circles around a story of an orphan girl and before she was adopted, there were three heroes she considered in her life, namely: Dr. John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, and Jim Moriarty.
Weird isn't it that she considers Moriarty a hero even though he is the one of the world's greatest villains. Because in her story, she saw a different man. Different from what the world sees him.
Sherlock wouldn't believe if he heard her call him a hero. He wasn't a hero, he is only doing his job.
On the other hand, John would be honored if he was called a hero. It was part of his work after all.
Other canon novel characters will be added. Wiggins would be one of them though I'm making him younger.
