Third Person POV

*Stayin' Alive starts playing*

BANG! BANG!

"That was so close!"

"So close isn't enough. You can't miss if you want their life to end."

ha ha ha ha stayin' alive, stayin' alive

"Are you not gonna get that?"

"The real world have distractions, my dear. You have to deal with it!"

"It might be something important." BANG!

Moriarty pulled out his phone and saw Microsoft Holmes name holder on the screen. He glanced up to see Lillian trying to maintain a steady hand. Satisfied, Moriarty hummed before leaving the shooting range to answer the call.

He knew already what the conversation would be about. He just liked to annoy the Ice Man.

"My, my. It's only been a week Mr. Holmes, missin' me already?"

A plummy, gravel-like voice of the high British official spoke from the other end of the line.

"I am sure you are aware of the disappearance of a girl named Lillian Morris?"

Moriarty rolled his eyes. He kept hearing the name from the past days.

"It's all in the news, nothing new, nothing interesssssting. What does the runaway from Baker Street have to do with this call?"

"Certain points from her life lead to you."

"Everyone's life lead to me. Take it as a suspicion if you don't find my name or my business in someone's life."

Mycroft let out a deep sigh, all he wanted was to ask and gain a proper answer. Much unfortunate to him, the great Consulting Criminal always liked to have a foreplay.

"Is she there with you?"

"DO I GIVE OFF THE VIBES OF A BABYSITTER?!" Moriarty snapped without missing a beat. Mycroft was more than relieved he had this call on speaker, his ears would've been bleeding.

Moriarty continued with a change of restrained tone. "We have talked about this, Mr. Holmes. You and I both share the knowledge that I am not truly behind this nonsense scheme."

"Indeed we have," started Mycroft. "but it doesn't mean you don't have a part in it as you are a consulting criminal?"

Moriarty was starting to get more annoyed, the other man wouldn't let go of the topic easily. Although he enjoyed the lying, Mycroft was an intelligent man but none the wiser when under great pressure.

"I've got bigger, better, more interesting and entertaining cases to attend to, Mr. Holmes, if you don't mind."

Mycroft frowned. He gently dropped his hand near the phone on the table and tapped his fingers.

"Well, it seems that you are useless in this matter."

"You tell that to yourself everyday," Moriarty remarked, a smirk playing on his lips.

"We'll keep in touch."

"Adios, Mr. Holmes. Graciaz."

The call ended there.

The silence in Mycroft's dining room seemed overbearing. His grey eyes stared at the gadget's screen until it flashed black. With a sigh, he ran down a hand on his face. That was his last option, but not for worst-case scenario. But all was said and all was done.

There was nothing to tell his younger brother tonight.

They have been waiting for new intel from three dreadful days that elapsed. Unfortunately, the consulting criminal seemed out of reach, like he always had been.

Moriarty dropped his phone back into his pocket, pushing the doors to enter again the shooting range.

After the disagreement the two had on dinner three nights ago, the young girl confronted the world-class villain, who also had the intention to talk. So, they made their amendments, which somehow included a bit of shouting but at least they found their common ground, becoming more understandable to each other. It was as if the rage between these two disappeared—or merged... for some good murder one day.

"What? You're tired already?" Moriarty scoffed at the sight of Lillian taking a break so early into training. "Go back to practice until you can shoot in both hands." He pushed her to one of the cubicles.

"You haven't even seen my perfect shot," Lillian grumbled.

"Show don't tell."

Lillian smiled, refilling the gun's cartridge with practice bullets. She pressed the red button to move the targets, pointed her gun at those and pulled the trigger. Droplets of sweat fell to the floor as each shot got fired. She turned back to Moriarty after firing ten, hitting ten.

"Well done." Moriarty raised his eyebrows. "That's good for your first hour of shooting and you're not even wearing earmuffs."

"I don't know. The sound seems familiar to me. Too much action movies I guess." Lillian chuckled, putting the practice gun away.

"It feels better than action movies," Moriarty commented.

"Of course it does, but hurt likes hell." Lillian winced as she touched a sore spot on her upper back. The morning combat practice did wake her up like an earthworm getting sprinkled by salt.

"Hit Seb back on the side of the torso, near the heart. That's where his weakness is," Moriarty nonchalantly said.

Lillian raised an eyebrow at him as she unwrapped the bandage on her hands. "How'd you know that?"

"Know everyone's weakness, but never tell yours."

"You're being very much poetic today, Mori. Having a domestic with your partner?"

"Don't make me use your weakness against you, Lily Pond," he threatened.

"I'm not scared."

Moriarty hummed, running a finger along the circular edge of the crates containing firearms. "Goooood, but I told you—stop acting like a fool."

"I'm no fool," Lillian answered back.

"Hmm, really?" He stopped and turned around. He lifted his dark brown eyes up, narrowing it at the young girl in front of him. He stared at her with all the darkness he could muster. But Lillian stood tall and calm, mentally preparing for what's about to go down.

"Lunch?" Moriarty invited, a grin breaking his intimidating character.

"Absolutely!" Lillian jumped.

×=×=×

Just a short Lillian and Moriarty interaction. Also, she now calls him "Mori".
