Lillian's POV

The village itself was a labyrinth, all turns and dead ends. The hedges that guarded houses didn't help in my escape as well. There were no street posts to identify each street I came upon, everything looked similar.

No, I came here already.

Cars, plants, the gate designs. All of them were a pattern that served as a hindrance to get out of this place. Running straight, there was a limousine then an SUV, geranium flowers then white wildflowers, gates coloured gold then black. This was all a set up.

How did I not notice that before?

"Spotted! Lane 13-A."

The group of them ran towards me, and with all strength my legs could work I took another street, going zigzag to loose them.

"Lane 9-C!" Another man shouted.

I made a u-turn to another way. Obviously, I am running in circles or squares.

Is there a hiding place here?

"There! 4-B!"

13-A, 9-C, 4-B. I need to go back to 13-A.

"Come on, Bullet. Follow me," I told him. We were both panting heavily, bodies exhausted for long minutes of running. Beads of sweat covered my whole body—not including the gross blood—, sometimes the sweat flew as I turn my head or take a hard turn.

13-A, is this it?

"She's coming back to you! At 10!"

Let's hope that means 10-A.

So we bolted away again, not even getting a chance to breathe. I ran to the left, a right then another right. We went back to the street we were. I ran straight, passing a few men but never stopping.

"Block the way! She's in second!"

I'm getting closer to the exit. But when I got out—if I get out—, they're going to use cars. I have to be off-road. Thank God for trees.

By another turn, I was met by at least a dozen men in suits.

What is it with men in suits?

"Freeze, young lady!" They pointed their guns at me.

"I'm pretty sure you were ordered to not shoot me," I retorted.

"These are tranquilizers," one of the replied.

"There's a dozen of you with tranquilizers and if you shot all of me, I might ended up paralyzed, or worse, dead." I started to back up when one of them yelled again.

"Don't move!" He pulled the triggered and it missed.

"Men, you are—plainly speaking— fucking shithead idiots! We're wasting each other's time so just let me through." I stepped sideward, towards a limo.

Bullet barks once. "See, my dog's agreeing. Good boy." I glanced at him.

I took two more steps when another voice spoke.

"He's not the only one agreeing." All of them looked at the man who said that, which is one of them.

He smacked his gun to the man beside him, kicking the one behind him at the same time. One tried to shoot him but it ended up to another's chest.

I quickly grabbed the dart on the road which I dodged. I made a dash to them, attacking two men that was on the way.

"Morris has breached the exit! I rep—"
