Lillian's POV
I slowly start to wake up when I felt a tug from the lower part of the jacket I was wearing. I became fully awake when I was pulled out of the chair and landed on the floor with a heavy thud.
Bullet stood by my head, licking my face. I scratched his neck then pushed him away.
SLAM!
I jolt up from the loud sound near me. I looked behind me and saw Sebastian Moran in front of the refrigerator, drinking from a can.
"'Bout time you finally wake up," he told me, not looking at my direction.
I rubbed the sleepiness from my eyes and grabbed the edge of the counter to pull myself up.
"What time is it?" I yawned.
"Dinner time, yours has been waiting for a while now. Jim also wants to speak with you."
"I'll be there in a minute," I told him while I rinsed my face.
"You'll get there in half an hour because you don't know the way."
"It's not my fault I don't have a map."
"Lucky you, you have a guide. Let's go before he throws a knife at us."
I dabbed my face with a paper towel then followed Sebastian. Bullet walked beside me, snarling a bit because of something in his mouth. I then glanced at the worn out shoes of the man beside me.
"Hey buddy," I cooed. "You had fun biting off someone's leather shoes?"
Sebastian raised at eyebrow at us.
"Oh yes, you did, ha? Maybe next time you can bring me their gun so we could get out of here."
"Haha, funny. Last time I checked he pulled someone off their chair and ruined their sleep," Sebastian retorted. I glared at him.
We passed by a window and evening has indeed fallen. However from this angle, I could see a faint light from a nearby town. We are closed to civilization. After a couple more turns and a small staircase, we arrived in front of two big wooden carved doors.
"How good are your reflexes?" asks Sebastian before he opened the door.
"I trust my intuition," I said in a low voice.
"Pray it'll keep you alive."
"Just open the door, he already lost his temper."
Sebastian shrugged before opening the door. A flying knife was instantly sent on our way. I dodged by leaning on my right then dodging another which made it stuck on the door.
"Excellent reflexes," Moriarty observed.
"Intuition," I muttered.
"Let's have dinner!" Moriarty announced, fixing his suit.
He sat at the edge of the table, I on his left and Sebastian on his right. We were the only ones dining on these long table. Three of his servants came in and pulled off the domes in our plates.
"Pan-seared Thyme Lamb Steaks," announced the server.
"Thank you." Moriarty waved and they left.
We peacefully ate our dinners which took me by surprise. I thought having dinners with them would be—
"Ugh, the lamb is STILL RAW!" Moriarty roared. One of the ladies came in and took his plate.
"I wanted it MEDIUM RARE, not ALIVE," he added.
"Would you like mine?" Sebastian suggested. "It's perfectly cooked."
"NO! Great, I'll settle with this casserole." He played with the vegetables like a small child before taking a bite. I caught him glanced at disgust at me, as if I was doing something terribly wrong.
"Lillian," he called, "stop meddling inside your head. The look on your face is getting annoying."
I let out a sigh. "I'm not fond of eggplants."
"Just put them aside then." "Give it to your dog."
Jim and Sebastian replied at the same time. I decided to give three pieces to Bullet then placed the rest aside. We continued to eat and Moriarty's medium rare lamb arrived. He was more than happy to finally have it.
"How's your stay so far, Lily Pond?" Moriarty asked.
"I've only been here for less than a day."
"And you've done great damage already, worse than the last guest we have, I'm glad she's put down though," he whispered the last part. "You set fire to your own room which is, I might say, impossibly fantastic."
"I had to get out in some way."
"And arson is the key to the locked room. Very clever."
"Where are we, exactly?" I asked.
"Welcome to my dear hacienda, my dear!" Moriarty proudly announced.
I paused on cutting my lamb, keeping my angry tremors under control. I know better than to disrespect the person of power in their own status but this old man has been testing my patience since I got here.
"The name of the city or province we're in in England," I cleared.
"We're not in England," he scoffed.
"Lies. We are still in the country."
"No, we are not," he sing-songed.
"I won't be able to go through security checkpoint because I got the British Government behind my tail. One sight of me in a camera and all alarms go off. I've been informed nothing goes under his nose unnoticed."
Moriarty chuckled. "I have my own ways. I got the keys for every door in the kingdom. Mycroft Holmes and all the Queen's horses and all the Queen's men wouldn't lay a finger on you unless I told them so."
"You know I could just override your system and find a way out of here."
"You're either smart to make me think that is what you'll do or DUMB enough to spill your plans. If so, you won't survive out of those walls. There are others searching for you, do you worst than I can."
"I outrun them before—"
"Because you got Sebastian! Mutilated will be your state right now because of your dirty stunt back at Whitegate." He then proceeded to list down the things I've done to escape. "Stabbing your father to death, blowing a man's brains out, shooting down more—"
"And I could do the same to you." I held my chin up, sending a glare on his way.
"You could," he sets down his knife and fork, slowly raising his eyes to me. "but I could do much much worse to you. You make death easy, I make death a long way before finally deciding to take life out of you."
There's only darkness in his eyes as he spoke such horror. He stared at me, throwing daggers, maybe even planning my death already. I looked away from him, releasing a shaky breath.
"I lost my appetite. Thank you for the dinner." I hurriedly made my way out, grabbing one of the knives Moriarty threw.
