Paul's POV
Two Weeks Ago

Beep beep, beep beep.

There was a vibration from my back pocket. My phone was ringing with an unknown number displaying on the screen. My day hasn't really been so good, but I know my meeting with Juliet will change it a bit.
"Hello, this is Paul and may I know who I'm speaking with"? I waited patiently for a reply but I got nothing. "Hello? Hello are you there?"  I still got nothing. I'm sure this person isn't ready to have this conversation. I ended the call and continued to brush off the mud on the side of my Nike snicker.
Grandma had gifted me those snickers last Christmas and trust me I'll be forever grateful.

It is a Saturday with a grey sky, a sign that it's going to rain today and I'm hoping it doesn't spoil my plans.

My phone started to ring again with the same number displaying on the screen. "What exactly does this person want"? I muttered under my breath.

I swiped the green arrow to the right and our calls got connected. "Hello" I said again, but I was met with the same silence as the last time. "If you won't say anything I'm sorry but I'm going to have to hang up".

"Hi" Finally I got a reply, but "hi" can't make up for the amount of time this person has been annoying (just once though)

"Who are you by the way"? I asked

"I'm a friend" Woahhhh a girl. Okay Paul be cool.

"Alright friend, what do you want me to help you with"?

"Can you please come outside your house? .......Please"?

What?! The voice in my head screamed "You're outside my house?! I mean like right now? There was a short silence until I broke it. "Huuhh alright hum I...'ll I'll be there".

"Thank you" That was what she said before I heard the beeping sound from my phone.

I don't really like having people come over my house, but if this is important I don't mind.
So who could this be? Tracy? Emma? Patricia? Merit? Noooo merit ain't this cool. Juliet? It could be Juliet. The mention of her name in my head filled my heart with happiness. She's so full of surprises. My grin became bigger. My body shivered as my hand came in contact with the cold steel. All my expectations died when I opened the door to see the visitor who had come for me.

"Hi Paul" she said softly. I went straight into ultimate confusion, like someone had hit my head with a bat.

"Hi Jewel. What are you doing here"?

Continuation

The drive to Juliet's home was quiet. She had ignored me for the rest of the drive. I know better than starting any conversation with her. She has refused to let me help her in. I originally thought she would forgive me after helping her, but I was wrong.

I drove back to my block where I live with my father and my paternal grandma. The ridiculous questions about the Lock that popped in my mind shocked me to the core. I tried to forget all that happened.
I packed my car in the driveway. The car originally is my Dad's, but he lets me drive it whenever he won't be taking it out.

I was met with my grandma's ravishing smile while she stood in the doorway holding the door open for me to come in. "Welcome Paul, you almost got me worried".

"I'm sorry granny, but right now all I'm craving is a warm hug". Her lips curved into a smile again. "Ooohhh, my little baby, come here". The hug was warm and calming as usual.

"Now go wash yourself up and let me make you something to eat, you smell like sweat". I placed a small kiss on her forehead before rushing to my room to get a bath.
I stepped into my room and sat on my single sized bed. I don't go crazy over musical stickers or sport wallpapers you see in other teenage boys rooms, but I go crazy over music and my room was just like a white and black box. White and black wallpapers, bedspread and pillows, table and chair, drawer and doors.

When I was sixteen my dad let me move the speakers into my room since we hardly have visitors around.

I stepped into the shower and let the coolness take over. I clenched my eyes shut and the picture view of what happened two weeks ago appeared in my head.

***********

Two weeks ago

"Jewel, what are you doing here and how did you know I stay here"? I needed answers. Confusion was written all over my face. She was wearing something really exposing and little makeup, like this was planned.

"I'm sorry for appearing out of the blue, but please I need to talk to you". I remembered I already planned my weekend and Jewel wasn't in it.

"I'm sorry Jewel but I have things to do".

"Please, I promise I won't take much of your time". She took a step towards me.

I scratched the back of my head, something I do when I'm confused. "Alright".

A smile appeared on her face immediately I said that. She moved closer to me and there were only few steps between us. Her action was making me uncomfortable. She gripped my wrist and the coldness of her hand came in contact with mine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My eyes swung open when I heard a knock on my door. "Paul you need to come downstairs right now someone's here to see you". My grandma called.
"Okay, I'm coming" I screamed back. Who could this be again? I groaned under my breath.

In less than five minutes, I was done cleaning up. I was wearing my grey joggers and a big white shirt. Walking into the living room and there she was, standing by the picture frames with her back turned at me.

"What are you doing here"?
