Chapter-14

"What are you waiting for? Get out of my face!"
Anastasia and Alexis bent to help Merit up but she shrugged their hands off.

"It's obvious why no one wants to be around Juliet, no one can ever like you". I was hurt by her statement but it's the truth, no one wants to be around me for too long, not even my parents. I looked out the window while pretending to be focusing on something else and not what Merit was saying.

"You're trash Juliet, you're unwanted! You don't even have a Dad...hahaha...Did he run away after he saw how ill fated you are?" She chuckled.

"Even your own best friend pushed you off the stairs". My head swung in her direction after those words left her mouth. "Are you surprised". She laughed wickedly again. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" I shook my head frantically refusing to believe what I've just been told.

"Oh, she's here, come here jewel... Why don't you tell Juliet how and why you pushed her off the stairs". People murmured around me. I kept my eyes locked with Jewel's waiting impatiently for her reply.

"Don't lie to her Jewel, I saw you that day hahaha...oh oh! that reminds me. And Juliet you can as well ask Paul why he hid it from you, coz he saw her ran away". Hey eyes threw daggers. .

I shook my head frantically, keeping my head down. He walked towards me and tried to change my mind. "Juliet, we can talk about this later".

"Don't touch me". I got up on my shaky legs and walked to where Jewel stood. "did you do it?" I asked her. She remained quiet and stared at me blankly.

"Did you do it?!" She waited another while before finally giving me an answer.

"Yes" the moment she said yes I felt a pain in my chest, like I have been stabbed.

"Yes I did it. I've gotten what I wanted and I'm not sorry!" My anger took over me and I slapped Jewel in the face which turned pale immediately.

Everyone gasped and murmured.

She put her hair that fell on her face behind her ears and smiled, but I saw the pain behind that smile. "I formed the voicenote too".

Now everything is connected. Jewel is the only person who has the password to my social accounts. She logged in and sent the voicenote to everyone.

I felt shattered.

"What did I ever do to you jewel? I loved you like a sister. Tell me what I did to you".

"You always get what I want. Grades...you're beautiful ... And the boy I liked". She liked Paul? I got confused.

"You liked Paul?" Her silence gave me the answer I needed. "Then why didn't you just tell me?"
"What would you have done?" She asked.

"I'm not you Jewel, I wouldn't have hurt you the way you did to me. I would have given up on something I knew could cause our friendship to fail. But you did it anyways, you framed me, I can't believe I was humiliated coz of you Jewel. You were my best friend! I was bullied for the voicenote and you still brought me cloths to change into. You pushed me off the stairs and went after the only boy I ever liked, you're heartless". I shook my head.

My eyes got teary but I already promised myself not to break anymore.

"You got him already right? Now both of you can go fuck yourselves and don't ever appear before me again".

I turned to Paul to drop my last words before going back to my sit. "I curse the day you spoke to me, my school life would've been normal without you".

I caught the new kid watching the scene before him. What a great play on the first day of school. Our eyes locked for a few seconds but I looked away immediately and walked back to my sit.

"Aaawwnnn I'm sure you must be so hurt now". Merit said.

"Yeah, we know what it feels like to be betrayed". Anastasia and Alexi stood behind me. "Don't worry we'll keep your company". They chuckled again.

"Just leave" I told them.

Scoffs "You never appreciate anything... let's go girls". Alexis and Anastasia hopped behind her and they disappeared. I felt alone in my world again, but this time I feel at peace.
