There was no time for them to pack and they knew that. "Get whatever you can and go. Stay together and don't draw attention to yourselves." Jade said as she walked towards both of them. She didn't hesitate before pulling her brother into a tight hug.

"Little brother.."

Lyle laughed through his tears. He didn't care now to fight them away, he couldn't help it. "Little only by a few hours. You'll never let that go, will you."

It's true, they were twins. Jade being born first, then Lyle. She had always seen him as her little brother, though. Someone she needed to protect. He loved her for it, but now it's time he learned how to do that for his mother.

Jade pushed back from her hug and gave him a small smile. "You're stronger than you think." She nodded at him and kissed him on the cheek. Her eyes gazed down at her mother, who was finally getting up off the bed. The way she was moving severely concerned Jade, but just as she was about to grab her mom's arm to help, another blast was heard. Her hand was caught by her mother's, cradling it with both her hands.

"Jay. Don't ever forget how much I love you. My beautiful girl." her mother said before reaching up to her face. Instinctively, Jade dipped her head and allowed her mom to give her a loving kiss on the forehead.

"I love you, both," Jade said, gripping both of their hands. Another blast, the red from the flames glowing through the window. "Let's go."

Lyle went off to grab a bag and get it filled with whatever he could. Jade, on the other hand, ran into her room and reached under her bed. She grabbed a small, wooden box with a floral design carved into it. Slowly, she opened the box revealing the only two things inside. One was a necklace her father gave to her before he died. He was a scavenger, no one of importance to anyone else but his family. He was everything to them. The necklace was a silver chain with a silver half moon on the end. The moon was engraved on one side: "Elysar". Jade held the necklace in her hands, gave it a small kiss, before pulling it over her head and onto her neck. It sat perfectly, the chain dangling just above her breasts.

The second thing was very old but extremely cherished. A photo of the whole family. The four of them. Smiling like nothing would ever happen to them. Holding on to each other. A tear escaped Jade's eye as she held the photo in her hands.

Another blast. Jade looked up out her moonlit window to see another home, dangerously close to theirs, go up in flames. She folded the photo, shoved it in the back pocket of her black jeans, before standing up quickly to run into the living room. She was met by her family, Lyle holding his moms arm. Butterflies began to wrestle in her stomach before she grabbed both of them into a huge, tight hug. "Forever," was all Jade could think of to say before they let go and started out the door. What they were met with next was heartbreaking.

Jade's eyes flew open at the sight. Stormtroopers, blaster shots whizzing by, fire, villagers running, screams, bombs going off. It was really happening. She was frozen again, her family at her side. She held out her hand for them to wait for a second before attempting to walk out to see if it was safe for them to run. Her eyes scanned the scene, them landing on the tall, masked figure she saw in her vision.

He suddenly turned around to look at her. He was looking right at her and she couldn't move or say anything. Fear taking over again because now she recognized him. She knew who he was. Kylo Ren.

His cape billowed behind him as he approached her quickly, gloved hands gripping tightly into a fist at his sides. Suddenly, he was standing in front of her. At his height, he was towering over her small stature. Jade gulped slightly, her eyes fixed on the mask. It was terrifying. Kylo Ren's hand shot out to the side and stopped two stormtroopers. Taking one last look at you, he nodded to you. "Take her."

Jade eyes flung open as the stormtroopers didn't hesitate to grab her arms. She turned her head around as she heard her mother was screaming her name. The grasp of the stormtroopers didn't last long before Jade spun around to look at her mother crying for her. Lyle has lost his mother in his grip and she was now running towards her daughter, arms outstretched to reach her. The tears were streaming down her face.

It was almost all going in slow motion. Every sound was muffled. She could only hear her mom. Jade's face crinkled up with sorrow. Her mother pushing through the pain she felt for years of being bedridden, just to get to her baby. A loud crack of sound pierced through the muffled noise, causing Jade to screw her eyes closed because of the proximity of the blast. Then, she felt it again. The sharp pain in her chest. She dropped down to her knees and grabbed her chest, looking at her hand again but seeing nothing. Slowly, her eyes trailed up to see her mother, beautiful and strong, touching a blaster shot that seared through her chest. Her face, once terrified for her daughter, was stone cold as she fell to the ground.

A loud ringing sound pinged at her ears as she screamed, "NO!" Crying for her mom, her hands fell to the dirt in front of her. She was collapsing, her whole world was too. The feeling from before. It was her mom. She couldn't bare it.

Two strong grips around her arms came again, this time she was too distracted by the scene in front of her to care. Her tears flowed, distressed cries emerged from her lungs, her limbs were limp in the grip of the troopers hands. Jade's eyes anxiously scanned the crowd of villagers running from blasts to find Lyle, who stood there at the door where you had left him. His face had fallen, eyes were drained of life, as his gaze met hers. Nothing was said between the two of them in that moment, but it was felt. As she was carted away from her home, heels dragging in the dust as she was pulled from behind, another shot had been heard.

Lyle, standing so brave a few moments ago, was shot causing him to fall over. He was still. Jade's mind raced as she called out again. Her tears hadn't stopped. She tried to reach for him but her arm was tugged slightly by the trooper.

Her family. Her life. Everything was gone.

She looked one last time at her beautiful home being engulfed in flames, at her brother's body, at her mother's. A breath catching in her throat as she was pulled into the dark ship, the rest of the troopers filing in behind them. The last thing she remembered seeing was Kylo Ren walking up the ramp, waving his hand over her head, causing her to see only black.
