Mr. Perry: I know a lot of you guys are still upset about your missing friends and fellow classmates, I contacted the police department yesterday, they informed me that they said they will do whatever it is in their power to find our classmates, and they will not stop searching for them, I am taking their word for it. (walks around folding his arms) So, I want to discuss the dream project experiment that I have changed the date doing the activity, I changed it to this Saturday instead of after Christmas break, at first I was going to cancel this project despite everything that has happened this year, but because a thought came to me last week that I know Quetip and Shonte, and even Corvec, would want us to go on with this activity.
Cheetoe (bobs): True.
Mr. Perry: And I know they all really wanted to participate in this activity with us, I know Shonte and Quetip was excited hearing about this activity I came up with this year, I have never thought of this activity until I met you guys, I wished that I could have come up with this experiment some years ago when I first started teaching, but things come to us unexpectedly, I want us to perform this experiment this Saturday at 10:00am-3:00 pm, we are going to be here for a while, and I want you all to be here early, do not be late because this is a big part of you guy's grade, like I have mentioned before, that you need to participate in order to pass this class or else you will fail if you do not engage, I am going to grade you on the workshop discussions about your collective dreaming, and sharing each other's thoughts on it.
Cheetoe: So we just doing all of that Saturday?
Mr. Perry: No, we are going to just do the experiment Saturday, and we do the dream workshop Monday that we will collect and gather from each other, I suggest after you all do the experiment, write about what you seen in your lucid dreaming, so you will not forget about what to share in class on Monday, you can get creative with the experience, I want you guys to always keep this in mind in analyzing your dreams, interpreting dreams is not a right or wrong thing, it is just like poetry for instance, in poetry we analyze and interpret what we read, and in our words tell how we feel about the poet's poem, and how the author expresses their word choices in the poem, we do not have to be right or wrong responding to the text, it is our interpretation, like art for example, I look at poetry and dreams as critiques, just like art is in analyzing a painting when we look at it.
Jesus: Interesting.
Mr. Perry: When we look at a film we analyze what we see in the characters and scenes giving our interpretation to it. We do not have to be wrong or right interpreting a painting or any piece of art in our words, and that is the same for interpreting our dreams, that is how I look at them, so after you all see your dreams, afterwards you can go somewhere and write a story about what you witnessed, dreams are like stories to tell, I see my dreams as stories to tell you guys, you can even write a book about all your dreams you had if you want, that is if you are into writing a lot, that is up to you guys, you can even draw images of your dreams if you are artists, or if you are a recording kind of person, you can record your voice telling about what you dreamed, there are lots of methods of telling your dreams, get creative, I want you guy's to really get creative on this activity, use your mind, and how you altered your time sense, when I would have lucid dreams, I would fly in my dreams which that will let us know that we are dreaming.
Cheetoe: How you do that?
Mr. Perry: You are the controller of your dreams, that is how lucid dreaming works, staying focus on your dreams, okay, after
lunch I will talk to you guy's more about the steps on how lucid dreaming works to perform this experiment, I am going to use the overhead projector today, I have notes for you all to copy.
