Mr. Perry: Everyone here? Wait, where is Cheetoe?
Jesus: We didn’t see em today.
Mr. Perry: Okay, because it is 10:15, he might be a little a late coming, I am going to put a sign up on the door letting him know we will be down at the lab. Okay guys following me, I am going to give you tons of instructions to perform the experiment, there is a lot of equipment I already had set up for you guys that are going to be really fascinating to you.
Jesus: Damn, Mr. Perry this is cool, where did you get all of this stuff from?
Mr. Perry: Well, I had hired a friend to help me with all of this equipment, the beds I asked to borrow from a citizen home.
Vex: Are these sunglasses?
Class (laughing):
Mr. Perry: No, their are what you call lucid dreaming glasses that you will be wearing to control your dreams, I am going to explain everything before we get settled in here, we have an hour break before we begin the experiment since we are going to be here for a while I brought snacks for you guys.
Jesus (smiles): Cool, cause I’m starving.
Mr. Perry: I bought a case of Hawaiian punch, donuts and plenty of chips for you guys, so snack on, and while you guys are snacking I am going to discuss the history of the dream machine and how it works to perform it, so I hope you all have your notebooks, and the notes from the other day, do you?
Class: Yeah.
Mr. Perry: I have a few Powerpoint slides I want to show you guys on this projector, uh Kiki and Vex can you both lift the shades down, please?
Kiki: Yeah.
Vex: Okay.
Mr. Perry: thank you guys, okay, so in the 1970s the dream machine was acknowledged by an author, Keith Hearne at Hull university, is where he worked in a sleep laboratory and he performed REM and lucid tests on lots of individuals and gotten many results from a chart machine, but as you guys know dreams are associated with REM, as you know, that means movement of the eyes while sleeping, which appears 90 minutes, REM sleep comes in with slow-wave sleep, which is abbreviated SWS, the first nightly period of REM last a few minutes, but the continuation increases in the morning and the REM moment would be over by a half an hour of sleeping, as you guys see the lucid glasses over there by your beds will show you an extraordinary dream world where you can create and alter people, situations, objects, worlds and even yourself.
Jesus (nodding and chewing): Cool.
Mr. Perry: So the things you wish you could do in reality are the things you will discover in the dream world.
Vex (rubbing his hand on his chin): Damn, I wonder could I make out with every girl in a lucid dream.
Mr. Perry: Actually you can.
Class (laughing)
Mr. Perry: That is part of the lucidity, you can do whatever you want in a lucid dream, there were reports in the 70s that came to Dr. Hearne that several lucid dreamers informed him that they had deliberately created sexual situations with themselves and with the unknown characters in their dreams using the dream control techniques, so you can do whatever you always wish to do in reality.
