Ashton was woken awake by a pillow hitting him in the face.

Ashton's POV

"What the hell!" I groaned as I looked around my room. I saw Hope with a flashlight.
"What are you doing in my room?" I ask her in a hush tone, since Delaney was still sleeping.
"Monster." Was all Hope uttered before Ashton carelessly jumped out of bed only wearing his shirt and his plaid pyjama pants. He slipped on a pair of slippers and followed Hope.

Shortly after treading through the forest, we meet Mr. Williams and Dr. Saltzman.

"Sounds like the trap worked." Dr. Saltzman says while holding his crossbow up.
"Obviously or else I wouldn't have been woken up in the middle of night." I tease Hope. She simply rolls her eyes.

We walk closer to the mill when Hope thought is was her turn to snark.
"I know this is important, but you couldn't have put pants on first?" Hope enquires. I stifled a laugh.
"Little early for snark, Hope." Dr. Saltzman replies.

"Any guesses on what famous monster from film land we get to slay today? Hope asks.
"Hope it's Santa, he's less scary." I snort.
"With our luck, it'll be Cthulhu." Dr. Saltzman says letting out a dry laugh.

We finally reach the old mill.

"False alarm, it's just a horse." Dorian says.
"Do you guys even have horses?" I question with confusion in my voice. We stood before a white horse with its head down.
"Must've gotten out of the stables and wandered across the barrier spell." Dr. Saltzman concludes, putting down his crossbow.

"Except we don't have a white horse." Hope says.

The horse then raises its head, showing something I didn't think I would ever see in my life.
It was a unicorn.

"No way, it's a unicorn!", I exclaim excitedly. "Delaney would love this!"

Dr. Saltzman and Mr. Williams then raise their weapons. Hope and I jump to defend the unicorn.

"Hey Wait,Wait, Wait!", Hope jumps in front of the Unicorn, pulling me with her. "Hold your fire!"
"It's a monster, Hope!", Mr. Williams scolds Hope. "It's here to take the artefact!"

"You're not seriously suggesting we kill a unicorn!" Hope complains.
"I'm suggesting we don't give it a pass because it's cute." Mr. Williams says back.
"Can't we just like leave it alone?", I ask. "It's trapped here, anyways."
