Everyone's leaving back to home for their holidays, while kids without a place called home stays back at the Salvatore school.
Some kids like Ashton.
Ashton's POV —
Delaney kissed me on the cheek before she ran up the stairs to meet my mom. Mom says they're going on a trip to some amusement park and it sounds fun. I'll be missing Delaney's birthday, but I could always call or astral project there. It wouldn't be the same though.
Josie and Penelope are staying, but I guess they're off on their own thing. Lizzie's going to Europe with her mom, Avery and her girlfriend and spending their time at Avery's sisters home, Landons spending his time here with Rafael, MGs here and that's it I guess. Just another day I get to live without Hope.
Rafael was turned into a wolf with one of Hopes ancient spells and she's the only one who could turn him back, but she's not here. The more he stays as a wolf the more he becomes one truly. It's a harsh reality.
Penelope and Josie goggled their way down to visit me again— probably to make sure I wasn't dying of loneliness.
"Hey, pretty boy." Penelope waved her fingers at me as the pair sat down crisscrossed in front of me. I scooted closer to the bars to be able to talk to them properly. "How's it hanging?" Josie asked with a lopsided smile. "I'm grand." I smiled. "What are you two up to?" I ask. "Oh y'know, we're here and there. Doing our thang." Penelope said as she cuddled up to Josie. Josie made a face and pushed her back to her original position. "Hey!" Penelope made a cute angry face at her.
I laughed at their antics.
"Are you sure you don't want me to set you up with someone again?" Penelope asks waving her hand around limply. "I'm very much good, Peez." I shake my head chortling. "We could find you a pretty lady, a pretty boy or a pretty they'dy." Josie grinned at me. "God you guys are annoying." I laughed.
We chatted for a bit longer.
"Laney's been telling me about this cute new bakery in town. You guys should go there!" I say as I just remembered what Delaney told me. I told them what Delaney told me and they nodded. "Sounds cute, well check it out." Penelope says. "Would you want something from there?" Josie asks. I shake my head. "No, you guys go have your fun." I say ushering them away. "Remember, you're the best boy." Penelope said before the pair left up the stairs back to the real world.
I sat in the cell quietly strumming on my guitar, while scribbling down random mismatched lyrics down onto my notebook. I hummed to the song and kept playing.
