I skipped through the forest, picking flowers and berries as I went. Blonde hair flowing behind me, I sang a merry tune.

I had hazel eyes, rosy cheeks, nice figure, you know, that girl that would have been close to being popular if she wasn't so weird. Because of my fairy godmothers, and odd interests, I was at the bottom of the chart. Not even close.

"I know you, walked with you once upon a dream, I know you that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam, and I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem-" "You're a good singer. Can I keep listening?"

It was the prince! Oh no! The prince had heard me singing and saw me dancing around sillily, with dirt all over me, in my worst frock. I screamed and started to run away. This was the most embarrassing moment of my life!

"Wait! I'm sorry for startling you. Don't run away! What's your name?" he said grabbing my wrist. "Rose, BriarRose." I said struggling to get away. The prince looked shocked.

"It's you..." he murmured. His grip lessened for a split second and I broke free. Again, I started to run. This time he couldn't catch me. I could be really fast when I wanted to.

I ran and ran and ran. No longer caring if he was chasing or not. I soon became lost. Very, very, very lost. What was I thinking, running off the path like that?!

What was I supposed to do now? And on my sixteenth birthay too. I guess I would have to wait for Fauna, Flora, and maybe Marywheather to find me, and a way to get me home. Half an hour later I was still waiting. All of a sudden I felt someone break into my mind.

"Where are you! We've been worried sick! Here come this way." They telepathicly sent me a magykal arrow that I couldn't quite see. I followed it home momentairily forgetting how the prince had seemed to know me... I walked in the front door and Flora and Fauna pounced.

"How could you get lost so carelessly?" "We were worried sick!" "Did you get pricked?" "Are you okay?" "And we had all these presents ready for you.." "Now the cakes fallen!" "And the wappings torn and wrinkled..."

Maryweather stood in the corner, arms crossed, not caring. "Thanks for the stuff." I interupted getting two spoonfulls of cake, and grabbing my dress. I changed into it and went to look for my pine needles.

Instaid of a diary, I sewed comic strips into a tapestry. today that odd prince from my dreams when I was little, would make it onto my growing embroidery collection.

Where were they? They were gone! I marched down the stairs, upset. "Have you seen my pine needles?" "You're not to use those today." said Fauna.

"Then I'm going back into the forest." "You can't go back into the woods! You shouldn't have been out there in the first place!"

"You could be pricked!" said Flora. "Then let me sew." "No, you can't!" said Fauna. "Why not?" "You might get pricked!" said Flora. "What's with all this pricked stuff?"

Flora and Fauna glanced at each other. "We just don't want you to get hurt sweetheart." said Fauna. "So don't go into the woods all alone." said Flora.

"Can't you come with me?"
"No, we... we... we..." said Fauna. "Have to re bake the cake. We're busy."
Nice save Flora. "But It's my birthday!" Maryweather, looking amused, said, "I'll take her."

"But-" "I was bored anyway." She interrupted. I was out the door before they could respond. As soon as we are in the forest Maryweather asked to use my phone. She was probably texting her little pixie friends. I grabbed a few Pineneedles to put it back in my box. Then I decided to prick my finger on purpose just to mess with Flora and fauna.

"Ouch!" I cried. Probably wasn't the best idea. Good thing Maryweather was much too engrossed in my phone to look up. "Maryweather I'm ready to go." No reply. I snatched my phone.

"I'm ready to go" I said. She crossed her arms and scowled, saying, "I noticed." I tried my best to smile sheepishly, but Maryweather iwas getting in my nerves lately. As I skipped back I started to feel a little bit faint. I probably just needed some water or something.

As soon as I staggered through the door Flora and Fauna exploded. "Are you okay?" "Did you get pricked?" Maryweather was tired of this game.
"Of course she didn't!" she cried.

"Look I pricked my finger..." I said, swaying. I had meant to be sarcastic, but it just didn't come out that way.
"Oh no! What have you done, Maryweather!" Cried Fauna, bursting into tears.

"Does this look like not pricked to you?" Flora said angrily to Maryweather, holding up my now glowing, green fingertip. "I don't feel to good... I think I'll take a nap."

I lurched towards my bedroom, but I couldn't take another step. I fell sighing to the ground and everything went black.

I woke up in a pink room. Pink walls, pink bed, and pink carpet. Pink was my favorite color, but the pixies had gone a bit overboard with the birthday decorations. "This isn't my room!" I realized groggily.

It was so big it wouldn't fit inside our cottage! Then I remembered how I had fainted. Perhaps it was a hospital room. Wow this hospital room was really pink! My blurred vision cleared, and I saw the worried group of people before me. I didn't know these people. Not a hospital then?

"The princess awakens!" I looked around the room for a princess awakening. The forest prince laughed at me and said, "You are the princess, Aurora! The long lost princess." They explained the whole story to me, the curse, everything. Though much to my mother's dissaproval, even my father's connection to Maleficent.

~ I have a little side story for ya folks. Way back when the king, dear Rosy's father, was a young man, he traveled to a land where no one had ever dared to before. This place was called Fayland. The prince went on many an adventure, but the scariest of all was marriage. Along the way he had met- "Hey can I Tell my own story please?" - Sure Rosy.~

~"Along the way he met a beautiful fairy, with whom he fell in love. They were to be married at once. The prince still had to travel back and forth to his own kingdom however, and one day he simply did not return to his beautiful wife. The fairy grieved to no end for her dear husband, whom she thought to be dead. One day she heard rumors, of the new king's baby's christening. Thinking of her dearly departed husband, whom was going to be king, if not for the terrible accident, she inquired of the new king's name. When the name was of her very own prince's, in one fell swoop she turned to the dark. Her wings shriveled, blackened and fell off, horns grew from her wicked scalp, and evil spells the likes of which we have never heard implanted themselves into her mind. The day of the new baby's christening, she crashed the party, and cursed her to sleep a hundred years, or until true loves kiss. Cackle cackle cackle. This curse took all her magic energy, and with it all her spite. The horns retreated, her wings grew back, and her face returned to its former loveliness. She fell to the floor sobbing. The fairy was dragged off, and publicly hanged for the damage she had done." Nice job. Would you like a summer job as my apprentance? You're good! "We can't talk about this during the story! But yes." Oh right sorry.~

"I- I'm going to take a walk in the palace gardens." I said. "Wait!" the prince said, grabbing my arm for the second time. "I just wanted to-" I stopped short of my sentence seeing the angry look in his eyes. It almost looked... evil, maleficent.

I ran screaming from the room, knowing that couldn't be the prince I'd met in the forest. He'd seemed kind and gentile. I stopped by a beatiful mirror to check my surely frazzled hair, and saw a boy inside.

Had they cut my hair? Did I really look like a boy? I reached out to touch the mirror, reflection screaming, and found myself in some kind of mirror world.
