Cassie POV
"I'm back" I called hearing my voice ring through the house.
"Welcome back,"Mum replied appearing from the living room. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't shout sweetie I can hear just fine." She added raising an eyebrow.
"How was your walk? Any fun?" She asked leaning against the wall as I struggled to take off my shoes.
"It was great." I said glancing up at her finally managing to shake it off my foot, "now if you don't mind I'll be heading back to my room" walking down the corridor. I really wasn't in the mood to talk after what had played out in the coffee shop.
"Ok Cassie, but dinner will be ready soon and dad will be home in half an hour so don't coop yourself up in your room for too long. Oh, and don't forget to unpack your stuff." She called after me before disappearing into the kitchen.
I groaned, making my way to the living room to pick up the box containing all my things- still placed upside down may I add.
During the short time I was gone, mum had already managed to empty most of the boxes, finding homes for all the things in them.
I could see our chicken shaped clock on the wall to the right, and her gardening magazines neatly placed in a pile under the glass table in the middle.
There was also our porcelain dog that was placed next to the TV, and our collection of snow globes neatly a lined above the fireplace.
The living room now seemed more 'living' if that makes any sense.
There were also four pictures hanging around in the living room, and another few along the corridors. I guess mum did somehow manage to tone it down, but I could live with one less. Checking to see that mum was still busy in the kitchen I quickly grab one from above the couch and throw it into my box, before quickly heading back to my room.
--
Emptying my box onto the floor I slowly began to fill up the room with my stuff.
Starting by placing my books neatly into the shelves, dropping the picture on my desk and then setting up my posters along the walls.
The posters weren't anything special, nothing like the casts of a movie or some kind of boy band. They were just scenery of mountains, flowers and animals which gave my room more life and in my opinion gave my room the 'natural' look- what everyone looks for these days.
After all my other things were in place, I flopped onto the bed taking in the smell of the newly washed sheets. Resting my elbows on the pillow I grabbed my laptop from my bed side table and placed it in front of me.
Time for some relaxing. Or something I like to call brain therapy, a technique I normally use to release stress and built up anger.
Opening up my browser and going on you tube, I checked out some of the newest videos from my favourite youtubers.
I soon found myself laughing at their struggles while they did the tin can challenge, and how ridiculous they looked while doing the chubby bunny challenge during a Vlog. This was part of why I enjoyed you tubers so much, they weren't afraid to express themselves, always goofing around in front of the camera and making even my worst days brighter.
After a few more videos I heard the front door open.
Dad must be back.
Leaving the laptop, I quickly go to meet up with my dad.
He had just come back from finishing his fifth job interview- he'd been searching all over this area for a job for the past two weeks but hasn't had any luck so far.
