Cassie POV
I gawked at him, not being able to process the information.
Brandon frick'en Crowen was my new neighbour.
Really? Out of all the people in the world.
It had to be him.
"Come on. I know I'm good looking and all, but can't you leave the staring till some time later? We should really go introduce ourselves first." He smirked glancing towards the direction of the lounge.
I rolled my eyes at his arrogance. But before I had time to even think of a comeback, he had grabbed my hand and was pulling me after him.

Stumbling into the living room after Brandon, I saw that our parents had already made themselves comfortable on the couches and were already chatting away. Waving to them, I quickly glanced around to take in the environment around me.
The couches were a whitish cream colour, matching the walls which were a clean pale white with a faint floral design. There was a TV in front of the couches, and shelves on the right.
In the very left corner of the room, there was a small pile of Lego and a half built structure, something that very much resembled the bottom half of a T-rex. The walls in that corner were slightly stained and had faint traces of crayons on it. I guess someone decided to have a bit of fun there.
But my gaze was interrupted by a cough that caused me to look back at my parents.
My parents were looking between me and Brandon in confusion and my dad was glaring down at my hand.
For a second I was slightly confused. What was wrong?
But then my eyes followed their gaze and looked down between us. My heart stopped.
I was still holding hands with Brandon.
Immediately, I tore my hands away from his. I could feel myself blushing as my cheeks began to heat up. "It's not what it looks like," I bursted out, my voice trailing trying to find an excuse.
My mum raised an eyebrow while dad was glaring a hole through Brandon.
But ignoring the looks my parents were sending us, I decided to introduce myself. "Hi, I'm Cassie. It's very nice to meet you." I smiled shyly at the man in front of me seated opposite my parents.
"Hello Cassie, I'm Ross, Brandon's dad. But it looks like you've met Brandon already." He chuckled gesturing towards him.
Brandon was obviously holding back a smirk as he wriggled his eyebrows at me. I rolled my eyes back at him before turning back to my parents.
My mum's gaze softened, patting the seat next to her, she gestured me to sit down next to them. Nudging Brandon to also go sit down, I quickly made my way and sat down next to mum.
While the parents quickly started another conversation amongst themselves, I spotted the plate of Caramel butter cookies in front of me.
I stretched forward to grab a cookie from table. But just before I was about to get one, a hand shot out sneaking under my hand, and taking a hand full of the cookies with it. I frowned looking up to see Brandon grinning back at me with the pile cookies in his hands.
'Don't be such a pig' I mouthed to him, careful so our parents wouldn't notice.
He replied with a smirk, stuffing three cookies in his mouth a once. Scrunching up my nose and shaking my head disapprovingly at him, I decided to tune into our parent's conversation.
