- 9 pm -

I heard a knock on my bedroom's door. "Come in," I said in a weak voice. The door opened and mom walked in. I quickly got up and hugged her. I felt myself immediately start sobbing into her shoulder. I heard her sniffle. "It was a car accident..." her voice broke. We both fell to the floor and cried. "W-Why him? Why him?" I cried.

"I don't-I don't know," mom said. We sat there...crying for what felt like hours. I felt myself drift off again.

Kelsey's POV

There was a knock. "I'll get it!" I yelled and ran to the door. I opened it to reveal Luke. "Oh! What a surprise!" I said, sarcastically. I walked out to the
porch with him and closed the front door. "Umm... I know this sounds weird, but do you know where Leah was today?" He asked.

I sighed, "I don't know. Probably making out with James all day..." I paused dramatically and then laughed sarcastically, "oh wait! Leah doesn't make out with a different person everyday...dang it. I don't know where she's at."

"Okay. I get it. But I need to tell her that James is lying, and he's-"

I sighed, "Look, Luke... Leah doesn't need you right now, okay? She's not into you," I said.
Yes, maybe the last part was a lie...Shh.

"Do you know where she is or not?"He asked. I shook my head 'no'.

He groaned. "Okay..."

A few seconds later, he was gone. I sighed.

Poor Leah, she must be heartbroken.

Back to Leah's POV

I sat on the bed. Mom walked in with a bottle of water. She gave it to me and I opened it and chugged it. "Keep drinking water, L, you're dehydrated."

I nodded. It was quiet.

"What about his funeral?" I asked. "It's in Ohio on Saturday," Mom said. "Tomorrow's Friday," I said. She nodded.

I sighed, "well...are we-going to...go?"

"Only if you want to."

I looked down. I though about it. Back to Ohio? To see...my...dead...dad. I took a deep breath and wiped off the tears that were spilling out my eyes. I looked at my mom, "I do want to go."

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it," mom said. I nodded.
I got up slowly to peak through the window. It was Luke. I saw him walk in the house. My heart started beating. A few seconds later, mom walked in.

"Luke's here to see you," she said. I mouthed ' No! No!'

She looked confused. "I don't want to see him," I whispered. "Oh," she said and walked out my room.
Minutes later, I heard a car drive away. I sighed in relief.

I grabbed my bag. "You don't have to go to school today, Hun," Mom said. "I want to," I said. She sighed and nodded, "okay, if you need something or want me to come pick you up just tell me, okay?"

I nodded, "okay, mom."

I closed my locker. "Leah!" I saw Kelsey stand right next to me. I tried to smile, "Hey."

She furrowed her eyebrows, "are you okay?"

I nodded. I didn't really want to start my day off by crying in front of my best friend. "Then, why are you sad?" She frowned. "I'm fine," I lied. I began walking. She followed close behind me. "Luke is a jerk. He doesn't deserve y-"

"It's not about him, okay?" I told her. She looked at me weirdly. Tears started invading my eyes. "L, don't cry!" She quickly hugged me. I tried not to make too much noise with my sobs. I already felt some eyes on us. Kelsey grabbed me and took my to the restroom. She frowned, "come on, L, tell me what's wrong."

I bit my lip to keep from crying. "I don't want to...ta-talk..." I couldn't stop myself from breaking down completely. Kelsey grabbed me before I fell to the floor. "Leah, what's wrong. You're scaring me," Kelsey said.

"It's my-my..my dad..." I sobbed, "he's-he's dead..."

I cried even louder.

"Oh my-Oh my god-"

Kelsey hugged me tighter. "Leah, you shouldn't be at school. Go home. You need to proc-"

"No. I'm staying. I'm not going to be depressed all my life."

"You're not. You need rest. You need to lay down, Leah. You look dehydrated."

"I-I'm fine," I said. There was a knock on the restroom door. Kelsey and I looked at each other in confusion. The bell rung and we both opened the door. Luke was standing there. He immediately hugged me tightly. I stood there, frozen. Kelsey stood next to me. Luke finally pulled away and moved a strand of hair to the back of my ear. "Are you okay?" He asked.

I nodded.

He gave me another hug. "I'm here for you, okay?" He said.

Did mom tell him?

"Okay," I looked at him and then looked down, "I gotta get to class."

I exited fourth period. I put my hand on my aching head. It was hurting like hell. I felt someone grab me. "Hey, you okay?" I heard. "Huh?" I slightly opened my eyes. The room was spinning but I could tell it was James.

"Are you okay? Leah, whats wrong?" He asked.

"I don't-I d-"

I felt myself fall backwards and it all went black.

Luke's POV

"I'm glad fourth period is over. That's class is boring as fuck," Caleb told me. I nodded. I looked down at my phone. "Dude...Look," Caleb said. I looked at him. He was pointing at a swarm of people in front of us. They were all in a big circle. We both walked over there. I pushed through some people. I felt a pain in my chest as I saw Leah on the ground. James was with her. He had his hand on her forehead. "What did you do?!" I exclaimed. James looked at me, "I didn't do anything! She just fell!" He said.

I grabbed her and carried her. I took her out of the circle and to the nurse's room. The nurse looked at us. "Oh my!" She exclaimed. I laid Leah on one of the nurse beds she had in there. "What happened?" The nurse asked. "She just-She just fainted."

She nodded and started checking her.
