Promise

Chapter 14

I walked down the hallway. I looked up from the ground. Many people were on their phones. Every single one of them looked up at me and gave me a look. I kept walking as many of them kept staring.
I walked past a group of guys. They started laughing as they looked at me. Some of them whistled.

I almost reached 6th period. I saw Jacob and Kelsey on their phones as well. I ran to them. "Guys, please tell me what's going on..." I said. They both looked at me. Jacob didn't even look me in the eyes. "Leah... It's going to be o-"

"What happened? Let me see!" I snatched Jacob's phone. I felt my heart drop. It was a picture of Luke taking my shirt off. There was a camera in the room...I realized there was another picture attached to it...My hands shook and my heart was beating really fast. I swiped to the left. I felt tears escape my eyes. It was a picture of him kissing my neck.

I watched Nadia walk by. She laughed and winked at me, "I told you."

I ran off. "Leah!" I heard Kelsey.

Mom hugged me tighter as I sobbed into her arms. "I'm so stupid," I cried. "No, Hun. You didn't know. You got carried away..." she said.

I knew she was still shocked at the fact that I lost my virginity, and I knew she would have grounded me if it weren't for this 'incident'.

"Im going to go make you some soup, okay? And then we can figure this whole thing out."

I wiped tears away and nodded. She kissed my forehead and went in the kitchen. There was a knock on the door. I stood up from the couch I had been crying in for about in hour, and went to the door. I looked through the window. Kelsey.

I opened the door and she hugged me. I hugged back. "I have a cousin who can take the photos down. She's an expert with these type of things!" She said. She continued talking, "she lives about an hour away, but I called her and she's on her way here."

I took a deep breath as tears fell down my face. "Hey, don't cry! Everything's going to be okay. You just have to ignore people and soon they'll forget it."

I hugged her again, "you're the best...I love you so much."

She hugged me back, "I love you too, and everything will be okay."

"Aaaaand...boom! the pictures have been taken down by Instagram," Kelsey's cousin said. "Oh my gosh, thank you so much!" I said, hugging her, she chuckled, "no problem. Be careful with these kind of things."

Mom nodded, which meant she was agreeing with her.

My legs were shaking as I entered school. Many people looked at me. Some laughed, while some just stared. I went to my locker and opened it.

You just have to ignore people and soon they'll forget it.

I felt two arms around my waist. I jumped and turned around to see some random guy. "What's up shorty. You mind if we re-create those picture tonight?" He bit his lip. I pushed him off, "don't touch me."

He came closer again, "come on. I bet I can make you feel way better."

I pushed him and hit his chest. "I told you not to touch me!"

I pushed me against the lockers, "No, no, no! You're going to listen to me. Okay?!" He yelled. "Get off of her, man!" I heard. I watched the guy get punched in the face. People swarmed around us. I realized the guy that punched him was Luke. Everyone started recording. Luke punched him to the ground. "Stop!" I exclaimed. "Hey! Get to class!" I heard. Everyone ran. I looked to see the principal. Shit.

He grabbed Luke. "You three are coming to my office!" He yelled, pointing at Me, Luke, and the random guy.

"Okay, Liam, you may leave."

The guy stood up, put the ice bag on his eye, glaring at Luke. He walked out. The principal sighed. I felt Luke's eyes on me. I didn't even glance over at him.
"Look, guys..."

"I understand y'all are growing up and started acting certain things, but you can't let people take photos of y'all-"

"That wasn't me! It was him!" I said, pointing at Luke. "I didn't do it!" He exclaimed. "What do you-"

"Okay! Enough of arguing! We found the student that posted it and we made them delete everything."

"We are calling people up for the office to make sure they don't have any pictures of what happened."

"Okay, Who was it?" I asked. "We can't tell you that, Leah. It'll just cause more problems."

"Exactly. You probably know that Luke was part of it," I said. "It wasn't me!" Luke exclaimed. I ignored him and looked at the principal again, "I have the right to know."

"No, Leah. We are making sure to punish this person and people that were part of it," the principal cleared out. "Now, lets forget this happened, okay? The pictures will be deleted and that's all that matter."

I stood up, angry, and grabbed my backpack, "May I leave?"

The principal took a deep breath, "yes, and please be careful next time."

"Yeah, Everyone's been telling me that!" I said and walked out the office.

I heard footsteps behind me. I felt his hand on my arm. "Don't touch me," I said. He pulled me, making me face him. "Listen to me, okay? I didn't do it. I swear..."

"I don't believe you. I'm tired of this, Luke. I trusted you. I could have been drunk, but I wasn't. What am I supposed to tell you? Congrats? You did it! I'm officially one of those other girls you played with," I said.

"No! I don't know how the camera got there. I never saw it! Please, Leah, I love-"

"Shut up with the 'I love you's...I don't buy them anymore," I said.

I tried walking off. He grabbed me and pushed me against the lockers. He pressed his lips against mine. I tried pushing him off, but he gripped me too hard. I felt my lips start moving along with his.

No, stop it!

I pushed him off and slapped him. We stared into each other's eyes as he put his hand on his cheek. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I stood there. He quickly grabbed me and kissed me again.

...I kissed back.
