Back to Leah's POV

I opened my eyes. I looked around and saw the nurse on her computer. She looked at me and stood up with a water bottle. "Your mom's on the way, Hun."

I took the water bottle and sat up. "How'd I get here?" I asked. "Some boy brought you," she said.
It must have been James. My phone dinged. I pulled it out of my pocket. My mom texted.

Mom: Leah! I'm here! Are you awake? Please tell me you're okay!

Me: Im fine. Mom. I'm on my way.

Mom: thank god!

I showed the nurse the texts. She nodded, "please stray hydrated, okay?"

I nodded and headed out.

• Monday •

I closed my locker. Kelsey was suddenly right next to me. "Hey!" She hugged me. I took a deep breath and hugged her back. "How was it?" She asked, referring to the funeral. "Well. It was definitely not great," I said. She looked down and then back at me, "sorry. I shouldn't have asked."

I sighed, "it's fine."

I took out my water bottle and drank some of the water. I sighed and looked at my best friend, "there's nothing I can do anymore. He's gone. The only thing left to do is...

"Move on."

• 1 month later •

I entered chemistry and sat next to Luke. It went to awkwardness again. He sighed, "can we talk?"

"I'm good," I said. I felt him put his hand on my thigh. "Please. It's been a month."

I rolled my eyes and moved my leg away from his hand.

The bell rung and grabbed my bag. Everyone ran out the class. Luke grabbed me before I could even move. He gripped my hand and took me out the class. "Woah, woah there," I felt my other hand get gripped.

I realized it was James. "Let her go," James told Luke. "Why don't you let her go?" Luke glared at him. "Because I don't want to," he said.

"Can y'all-"

James pulled my arm. "Ow," I groaned. "Why would you pull her like that?! She's not a toy!"

James let go and Luke pulled me to his chest and whispered, "are you okay?"

I sighed, "yes."

I pulled away form him. "No, please leave me alone."

I got in Kelsey's car. "Party tonight!" She immediately said. I sarcastically smiled, "No!"
"Come on, L, you need to have fun."

I shook my head, no.

"LEAH! PLEASE!" She screamed. I covered my ears. I shook head again. "I'll buy you Starbucks for a week straight," she said. I looked down and sighed, "ugh, fine. Two weeks!" I told her. She nodded, "okay."

I sighed and she smiled enthusiastically.

• HOURS LATER •

"Wow. Jacob is rich," I told Kelsey. She nodded as we both looked at Jacob's big mansion. Blasting music was heard from outside the house. I hesitated. Kels grabbed my hand and pulled me inside. I felt scared as I looked around. There was a hot tub indoors and a bunch of other stuff that has to do with alcohol. There was beer pong and other strange games.

Jacob walked up to us and gave Kelsey a kiss. He smiled at me, "thanks for coming."

I nodded, "thanks for inviting me."

He looked back at Kelsey, "want to get a drink?"

She nodded and looked at me, "we'll be back."

I nodded once again. and scanned the room with my eyes. Everyone seemed to be be drinking. Some were already drunk. My eyes stopped at two people. I only recognized one, though.

Luke.

He seemed to be flirting with a girl. The girl was laughing and smirking. He leaned in but I looked away before I saw it. I took a deep breath and went to the drinks' table. i grabbed some tequila drink. I shrugged and poured some in a cup. I sighed and drank it. I was almost finished with the drink. Before I could finish, Kelsey grabbed the cup and placed it on the table.

"Kelsey," I groaned.

"You're not getting drunk tonight, okay?" She said. "Getting drunk is the whole point of a party, isn't it?" I said, grabbing the cup and finishing the drink. I grabbed the bottle of tequila and poured more in my cup. "No, no!" Kelsey tried grabbing the cup. I turned, laughed, and sipped some of the drink.
"Leah, this isn't funny," she said, trying to grab the cup again.

I kept turning. She grabbed on to the cup but I snatched it back, spilling some of the drink. "Leah, give it."

"No," I laughed. I ran off. I looked back to see her sigh while standing at the table. I let out a chuckle and looked back. I gasped as I saw my drink spill all over some guy. I looked up to meet the guy's eyes. They were blue. He had black, messy hair. I started laughing again, "I'm sorry."

He let out a small chuckle, "you're fine."

"I like your eyes," I said. He let out another small chuckle, "thanks."

"Do you go to-Do you go to Uh...LakeBrook?" I asked. "Haha, no. I'm actually Jacob's cousin."

"Does Jacob's Cousin have a girlfriend?"

He laughed, "you're cute."

I blushed and looked at his shirt. There was Tequila all over it"Oh."

"Don't worry, I'll go get a napkin," he said. Before I could say anything, he was gone. I scanned the room again. I spotted Luke. This time he was looking right at me. I quickly turned around and ran upstairs.

Why was he looking at me?

I ran into the restroom.

The same question kept circling in my head.

Why was he looking at me.

I took a deep breath. Maybe he was looking at someone else. Maybe he saw the girl he was making out with minutes before. Or probably some other hoe-girl.

A feeling of relieve released in me. I stood in the restroom for a few minutes and then walked to the door. I sighed and opened it. My heart completely stopped as I saw Luke standing right there. I don't know if it was because I was drunk or something but he looked better than ever.

His eyes were the prettiest light-shade of brown I had ever seen. His messy hair made it 100x better.

God, I love him-I mean...

"Thought you could run away from me?" He bit his lip, looking down at me. "A-are you drunk?" I asked. He looked in my eyes, "were you flirting with Jacob's Cousin?"

I was about to reply with a no. But I wanted to see his reaction.

"Maybe," I smirked.

He let out a disturbed chuckle. He looked down and then back at me. "At lease I didn't kiss him," I said.

"Were you spying on me?" His smirk came back. I shook my head "no".

I took a deep breath, "okay...

"Bye."

I walked past him but he grabbed my arm.
