Chapter 12
Kairi POV
After hanging around in town for what felt like hours, we had finally gathered all necessities for the club.
I had picked out the absolute perfect dress. It was the most beautiful shade of peacock blue with a silk, white sash tied around the middle, hanging slight to one side. I fell in love with it the first I laid eyes on it.
To pair up, I bought 5" white stileto's and a white gold necklace, earring and bracelet set. I had to say, they looked good together!
As me and Chloe left to get dressed, as did the boys, I finally had the chance to see my reflection.
An obviously, fake smile, plastered to my face like long-lasting make-up, pale pallor and lifeless, silver-blue eyes. I stared at the transformation in myself due to the situation I was in. I could keep it in on the inside, but it would always show on the outside.
This was probably the reason why everyone had asked me if I was okay all day...
"Kairi? You okay? You don't look so good, what's up?" Chloe waved her dainty hand between myself and the mirror, a geniunely concerned expression on her usually happy features.
I knew it. I just couldn't get anything past her like this, I thought, chuckling weakly.
Sighing inwardly, I called out to my wolf.
'Is it alright to tell her?'
I saw her eyes close in quiet contemplation.
'I don't see any harm in it' she shrugged.
I nodded and Chloe tilted her head to the side, like a confused puppy. The chocolate, brown eyes replaced with shining emerald.
As I went to speak, I found that no words would come out. No matter what I tried, it just stuck to my throat, refusing to be released. Frozen, like my heart. Never letting go of the past...
Her eyes widened as she took in my speechless state and a worried yet guilty expression rolled on her features.
Waving her hands side to side, she said;
"Oh god! I'm sorry Kai, I'm not forcing you into telling me! I just want to help you! I've been really worried about you lately, coming back to the place that tormented you for so long! And i just want to help you and...!
Throughout her big speech, I smiled warmly as she mumbled along. I gave out a bark of laughter and flung my arms around her neck, hugging her slender body to my own.
"...! Wooh! Kairi!?" I waited for her to regain her footing and when she did, I snuggled into the curve of her neck. With her blonde hair tickling my face, I closed my eyes and took in her scent.
She had always made me feel calm, relaxed. She was always there for me no matter what.
She rubbed my back in a soothing gesture and I squeezed her tightly one last time before pulling back and opening my eyes. The white and blue themed bathroom was soon bathed in a soft, violet light. I searched Chloe's face as her own eyes widened in suprise.
"God Chloe, I really do love you, you know?" I grinned at her softly. She was my irreplaceable best friend for eternity.
Her once suprised features disappeared almost at once and was replaced with a gentle caring smile that only continued to warm me further.
"Of course! Who wouldn't love me?" she stated aloud with a wink. Cheeky bugger!
I shoved her gently and stepped into my cubicle, giggling, as she did the same.
