Epilogue

Years had gone by, and everyone got over the death of Kion, who sacrificed himself to make sure that the Tree of Life, and everyone who lived there, would be safe from Makucha and his army. There was peace, and everyone loved it. Cheka and Uon had both grown up, and Rani had gotten old. While Cheka was destined to become the next king of the Tree of Life, it was up to Uon to lead the new Night Pride. Uon and her Night Pride were very successful at keeping the peace. It helped that there weren't any big threats anymore.

It was a sunny day, and the Night Pride was finishing their patrol. Cheka helped them as long as he would not be king. "We've finished the patrol successful again. Good job, Night Pride." Uon said. "I'm going to report what happened to mom. Are you coming with me, Cheka?" Cheka looked his sister in the eyes. "Of course I will." he answered as the brother and sister started walking towards the Tree of Life, where Rani was.

The two lions entered the Tree of Life. "Mom." Uon said. "Yes Uon. Is something wrong?" Rani asked. Uon and Cheka both looked at their mother. She looked different, a bit ill. But she wasn't sick. "Mom, are you okay?" Cheka asked worried. "Yes. I think my time has come." Rani spoke. "No, tell me it's not true." Cheka responded. "It is true." Rani nodded as she said that. "But mom, I'm not ready yet." "You are ready to become king Cheka, you just have to believe in yourself. Uon and the Night Pride will help you." Cheka and Uon were both crying now. "I think I should get the others over here too." Uon said, referring to the other members of the Night Pride. She walked out. Cheka cuddled up next to his mother, waiting for the Night Pride to return.

A few minutes had passed, and Uon walked back into the Tree of Life together with the rest of the Night Pride. Everyone was shocked to see Rani dying. "I want to thank you all for keeping the Tree of Life safe the past few years." Rani started. "Of course, your majesty." one of the members of the Night Pride said. "It will be up to Cheka to be the next king of the Tree of Life. You will have to work together a lot, but not like you have done now." Rani continued. Everyone nodded in response. "Good luck with everything that will be coming for you in the rest of your life." Rani said, as her breathing started to slow down. "We will keep everyone safe mom, that's a promise." Cheka said. Rani slowly put her paw on Cheka's side. "Thank you, Cheka. I love you." Uon stood next to Cheka. Rani now put her paw on Uon's side. "And thank you too Uon. I love you too." "I know mom. I love you too." Uon said as she nuzzled Rani. "I can't wait to be with him again." Rani mumbled softly. Hearing this brought a smile on Cheka and Uon's faces. Their mother would finally, after all those years, be able to see their father again. Cheka now nuzzled Rani too. "Good luck." he whispered, as Rani slowly closed her eyes. Once Cheka felt that her breathing stopped, he stopped nuzzling her.

That evening was the evening of Cheka's coronation, he now was the new king of the Tree of Life, and his sister, Uon, along with the Night Pride would help him to keep the peace at the Tree of Life.

It was night, and Cheka and Uon were outside, in a big open field full of grass. They were stargazing. "She's up there now together with dad." Uon said. "I'll miss her." Cheka said, to which Uon responded. "I'll miss her too."
