Movie Night - [Wendy]

I could've sworn I saw Irene walking with Taehyung and then talking to Beomgyu. She's certainly gained popularity since yesterday.

I don't get to talk to her until lunch, which bothers me for some reason. Once it's lunch, instead of joining the others like normal, I head straight to Irene's table.

"Hi," I say.

She jumps and looks up at me. She lets out a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank God. I thought it was another guy. You know how many people came up to me today? I walked to school with Taehyung, Beomgyu asked me out, Taeyong was being, well, Taeyong, Suho asked me for help with something he's already good at, and Jackson Wang invited me to his party that's happening in two weeks."

"Wow," I sit down. "That doesn't seem completely horrible. Don't you like the feeling of boys being all over you?"

"I want someone to be all over me because I'm me, not because they feel sorry or think I'm badass for standing up to Jennie," she says. "Taeyong is a good example. He's been all over me since the beginning. Besides, the only person I want all over me is the person I like."

"You keep bringing him up," I say. "Are you gonna tell me who?"

"What?" Irene asks.

"Who you like," I say. "He seems like an angel, from the way you describe him."

Irene chuckles nervously. "Well, the thing is-"

"Wendy!" I hear Joy call me from across the room. "What are you doing? Come here!"

I pick up my tray. "Would you like to join us?"

"Sure," Irene grins and picks her tray up too. She follows me to our normal table. She takes a seat next to me.

"Oh, right," I say. "This is Irene, guys."

"Oh, you're Irene?" Seulgi asks. "Nice to meet you!"

Seulgi shakes hands with Irene. She shakes hands with Joy and Yeri, too. None of us say anything for a bit. It's awkward having someone else here. It's just been the four of us for practically all of high school, but there's no harm in welcoming someone else.

"What movie are we watching tonight?" I ask. "You guys wouldn't tell me last time."

"A Quiet Place," Seulgi says.

"Isn't that movie scary?" I ask. 

"It's more intense than scary," Joy says.

"I had no say in this," Yeri says. "You know I get scared easily."

"I get scared pretty easily, too," Irene says.

I laugh. "Yeah, no kidding. I've probably scared you ten times since yesterday."

Irene smiles at me. Her smile makes me feel happy, so I smile too.

"Well, come to my house at eight," Joy says. "I'll have everything set up, and then we can chill afterwards."

"Sounds good," I say.

I start getting ready to leave at 7:30. Joy lives pretty far away compared to my house. As I step out the door, I get a text. I check it, hoping for it to be Irene, but it's Seulgi instead. Wanna walk 2gether?

As I'm typing a response, someone else texts me. Irene. I don't have the slightest idea where Joy lives

I reply, oh, right. Where do you live?
