It's finally Friday, and Irene's mother is finally getting discharged from the hospital. I know the week was hard for Irene. Every day after school, she would immediately start walking to the hospital. I even offered to drive her one day but she wanted to walk instead.

Having to deal with Joy, Yeri, and Seulgi was also chaotic. They wouldn't stop asking us questions. I regret telling them anything. I remember our lunch period from earlier today.

"So?" Yeri said, watching me and Irene sit across the table.

"What's up with you two?" Joy asked. "How are you doing?"

"Joy, maybe you should sit on our side," Seulgi said. "Give them space."

"You're right," Joy said, getting up and sitting beside Yeri.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"We're giving you two a spot for yourselves!" Yeri said.

"You don't need to do that," Irene said. "We're not-"

"You don't have to lie," Seulgi said. "We'll keep your secret."

"We're not dating," I said.

Even when I'm going through my memory, it makes me wonder, are we? I do like her, I like her a lot, but am I comfortable enough to call her my girlfriend? We've kissed a few times, does that automatically make her my girlfriend?

I don't know, but I wouldn't mind the fact of her being my girlfriend. Irene Bae and Wendy Son. It has a sort of ring to it, doesn't it? Even the name the others made up for us, WenRene, it has a flow to it.

"Are you sure about that?" Joy asked. "How many times have you done things that people who date do?"

"What qualifies?" I asked.

"The usual," Joy said. "Handholds, hugs, staring at each other, kisses." She smirked at us.

"It was only once," I lied. "Besides, you guys hug each other all the time. You hold hands, too."

"But not the way you guys do," Yeri argued. "You two just have this... thing when it comes to hand-holding."

Irene rolled her eyes. "There's no such thing as that. We're not dating. I don't even like her anymore. It was a one-time thing. We're just friends."

It's funny that she said that, because the next thing I remember is both of us together in the bathroom, doing, well...

"Do you think I was too obvious?" Irene asked.

"Like they'll figure it out anyway," I said as I gently pushed her against the wall.

"But they seemed to be suspicious," she said. "Are we dating?"

"I don't know," I said. "We can figure that out later. Now be quiet."

We kissed each other a lot harder than we had before. Her hands held my face in a cup as my hands were against the wall. I didn't know how long we were in there before we had to separate for class.

I'm in my room, watching another episode of Crash Landing on You while I wait for Irene to come home for the night, if she decides to come home at all.

All I can say is that the show is getting intense. I get a text from my phone. It's Irene. I smile.
