I must say, I finally feel like I have a place at school. A few weeks have passed, and almost every day when I wake up, Taehyung is waiting for me outside and we walk to school together. The main thing we talk about is our love life, and he's trying to guess who I like.

He doesn't like anyone right now, so instead, he tells me about his past crushes, and I was his middle school crush. I will admit, I did turn tomato red when he admitted it.

After the movie night at Joy's house, I feel like Wendy's friends have accepted me. I practically texted with Yeri and Seulgi until morning that night when I got home. I always join them at their table without thinking, and we get right into telling each other random stories.

I'm also getting closer to Wendy. One day, when I went to their table as usual, Joy was sitting in my spot next to her. I paused and sat across from Joy on the other side of the table.

Wendy looked at Joy. "Are you gonna get up?"

"What?" Joy asked.

"You're sitting in her spot," Wendy said.

"She's sitting over-"

"But that's not how it usually is," Wendy insists.

"Since when did you care?" Seulgi asked.

"Wendy, it's fine, I can sit here," I said finally.

Wendy looked at me. "Really? It's okay?"

"Yeah, of course," I said. Although I did want to sit next to her, I didn't want to cause any drama between her and Joy.

Now that I think of it, Wendy's been more protective of me. Is it because she's worried about me getting cornered by Jennie? Jennie hasn't been near me in a week, so I don't think that's the case.

"Irene?" someone says.

I look up to face Soobin. That's right. It's last period and I'm in science class, we're dissecting frogs. Soobin is my lab partner. "Yes...?"

"Are you gonna take notes?" he asks.

"What?" I say, then look at the piece of paper underneath my arms. "Oh, yeah. Keep dissecting."

Soobin reaches in with the tools and takes out the frog's heart. "Eugh. Hurry up and record what you see."

If you think about it, I'm doing the hard part. I need to have a close look at the frog's insides and write down what I see. I also need to measure the length and weight of whatever he takes out. He doesn't even have to look at the piece, he holds it as far away from him as possible and looks away.

I quickly draw a rough sketch of the frog's heart. "Scale."

Soobin places it on the scale and I quickly write down the measurement. I pull out my ruler and measure the length.

We repeat the process until the period ends. As I'm leaving the classroom, someone stops me. Jeon Jungkook stands right in front of me.

"Um..." I say, trying to get past him.

Jungkook just stands and stares at me. "You're pretty."

"..." I stare. "Um. Thanks? I need to go-"

He grabs my arm to stop me. He twirls me around and pulls me close. "Come home with me."

"Jungkook!" I hear Taehyung's voice. "What are you doing?"

Jungkook instantly lets go of me. He turns to face Taehyung. "Cheers." Then he runs off. What was that about?

"What just happened?" I ask, trying to regain my balance.

"Sorry, I talk about you a lot," Taehyung says, helping me stand up. "I think he found you interesting. School's over. Should we walk home?"

"Yeah, okay," I say. He lets go of me and we begin walking home. He tries to guess my crush as usual.

"Okay, so you told me you'd answer every question honestly, right?" he asks.

I nod. "Yeah."

"You said they were in our grade," he says.

"Mhm," I agree.

"But I've guessed every guy in our grade," Taehyung says. "Is he at another school?"

"No," I say. "They go to our school."

"Why do you keep saying they?" he asks me. "Do you like multiple people?"

I swallow. "No, but you're assuming something."

He stays silent for a bit and looks at the ground. "Can you give me a hint?"

I bite my lip. Should I tell him he's terrible at guessing because he's been guessing the wrong gender all this time? I'm sure he wouldn't care. It's not a big deal, is it? The only person I'm worried about telling is my mother. I know she wants me to marry a rich guy with money.

"Hello?" Taehyung asks. "You there?"

"It's a girl," I mutter quietly.

"What?" he asks. "Could you repeat that?"

"It's-" I choke on my words. "It's a girl."

He stops in his tracks. When I look at him, his eyes are widened. I continue to walk but at a faster speed. I want to go home.

"Wait!" he says, running after me. "Really?"

I nod, looking down. He lifts my chin up. "That's great. I mean, of course it is. It's perfectly fine. What I'm saying is, you don't have to worry. I won't judge you. I won't tell anyone! My lips are sealed."

"Thank you," I say.

"So the reason I've been failing miserably is that I've been guessing the complete opposite gender?" he asks.

I nod. "Yeah."

"You'll tell me if I guess right, right?" he asks.

"Yes," I say.

"Wendy," he says.

What? How did he guess that quickly? Am I really that obvious? All he needs to know is that I'm in love with a girl, and he can immediately guess Wendy? I can't lie, I promised I would tell him if he guessed right. "How did-"

He smiles. "You make it pretty obvious. If she doesn't already know, she's oblivious."

"Well," I clear my throat. "Thanks for letting me know."

"Wait a minute," he says. "Are you telling me you've been walking with me this entire time instead of walking to school with her?"

I stare. I guess I hadn't thought about that. I just felt comfortable around him. I'm comfortable around Wendy, too, but she gets nervous when we touch even for a second.

"You idiot!" he says. "You know what? I'm not walking with you anymore. Text her, and tell her you're going to walk with her."

"What?" I ask. "Why can't we just go together?"

"What do you mean, why can't we just go together?" he asks. "I'll be the third wheel."

"No, you won't," I say. "She doesn't like me. It's one-sided."

"You never know," Taehyung says. "If I see you walk up to me in the morning, I'm going to dash to school. I'm a fast runner."

I roll my eyes. "Whatever."

My stomach flips as I receive a text message from Wendy.
