Chapter 39

(Hopes POV)

Brian and I got out of his car as most of the guys were hanging outside talking with one another. They look at me and some give me a sad smile. Craig runs to Brian's side as Brian is running his hands through his hair.

"You don't think the dumbass will go back to her, do you?" Craig says to Brian before taking a glance at me.

"God I sure fucking hope not. He's... he's not stupid to drop Hope like that. Or so I hope." Brian says as he walks to the front of the car and leans against it.

"You're saying... that Evan would really dump me for her? Do I have to spell it out for you guys?! She tried to kill you! Why would Evan go after her again if we're his family?" I ask leaning on the car next to Brian.

"Sydnee is how Evan found Warren. She's like some relative or something I don't know or want to know. Sydnee helped "create" Evan into Vanoss, so Evan thinks he has to be in debt to her and Warren because of it." Tyler says, air quoting create as he crosses his arms.

"When she was trying to go after us, we would say something to her or Evan, Evan will just tell us to suck it up or in Sydnee's case, she'd threatened us by saying that Warren's men will come after us. So when Evan finally broke up with the bitch and got a restraining order against her, everything just kind of subsided, until well I guess now? She most likely knows what happened to Warren and since she knows WHO is in the gang, well... just be prepared for blackmail and more attacks from Warren's men, especially since she knows about you now Hope." Delirious says as he looks toward the ground. And just like that, I'm in danger once again but this time so is everyone else.

"What all did she try to do to you guys exactly? So I can I guess look out for it?" I say looking around at everyone.

"What she did to Craig, Delirious, Tyler, and I was hire hitmen on us. It put Tyler in the hospital for a good couple of days." Brian says looking over at me.

"I saw her put something in my drink, but that's the only interaction that I had with her," Brock says as he shoves his hands into his swim short pockets.

"She went as far as finding out where Lui and I live, turns out she was having someone watch the place and I came home one day to people in my apartment. Wasn't a fun fight to fight in, trust me." Basically says looking over at Lui. David sighs as he kicks at the ground.

"I feel like a bitch now, but she tried on multiple occasions to attack me by herself. I was able to hold my ground but it still felt wrong to attack her." David says not looking up. I look around at the guys as they try to avoid eye contact me.

"Why didn't you guys just kill her? I'm pretty sure sooner or later, Evan would've been like oh shit the guys were right." I put my hands into the hoodie pocket.

"To be honest, we were scared of Warren going after us and taking everyone out, even Evan. Hope, yeah you might have killed Warren, but he still has loyal men out trying to find us. We only killed him and the people that were in the building that night. We're still going to be on alert just not as big of a one because Warren is dead now." Craig says leaning his head forward so he can look over Brian.

"Is... is it bad... that I'm starting to get scared of Evan now, because of all of this? I mean, what if he does take her back?! I'm going to be her first target for fucks sake!" I yell out. Brian looks over at me and shakes his head no.

"Hope you can't be scared of Evan if he goes back to Sydnee again," Brian says, giving me a contempt look. Brock coughs to get my attention, I turn and look at him.
