That Night

"Grandpa, I'm home."

"Is that you, Cro?" Said Grandpa Crow walking to the entrance

"Ehh, why are you soaking wet? here use this towel." Said Grandpa panic while using his power to grab a towel near the bathroom, Croissant looked up and down at herself and realized she hadn't dry completely from playing.

Croissant wasn't soaking wet, Grandpa Crow was exaggerating she thought. Well she was still wet. No harms in Grandpa being a little too caring. Croissant chuckled at her thought.   

"The other kids invited me to play today"

"Is that so? That's nice. You should go take a bath before you catch a cold. I'm going to town for a bit"

"Is there something you need? Why didn't you tell me this morning?"

"Hahaha, I just remembered"

"Grandpa... Sigh, just be careful."

"I will, Sebas will go with me."

After that, Sebas followed Grandpa outside leaving Croissant all alone. Croissant went to take a bath and then she prepares dinner.

After an hour old Crow didn't came back. Croissant sat at the terrace, waiting while peeking inside looking at the clock. Then suddenly a loud explosion could be heard. Croissant was horrified, the town was burning. She look from the top of the hill people were running. Without thinking she went down to town.

The air was filled with burn smell. The bakery Aunt Lily own was on fire. The town was in chaos. Croissant kept running looking for her grandfather. People were being burned. 'why didn't they use their power? They shouldn't been able to be burned that easily' thought Croissant.

Then Croissant remember her Grandfather words when she was younger

"Listen here Cro, we, Elementalist are not powerful" Said Old Crow

"What are you saying, Grandpa, we are here because the outside people fear our power right" Said a 6 year old Croissant

Grandpa Crow smiled at Little Croissant. "The fortress are here to protect us from them not them from us, our power are powerful, but nothing in this world is without a weakness"

"Weakness?"

"We are weak against physical injuries, Cro. If we get hurt, we take more damage than normal being and healing takes longer. If we are badly hurt even if we can manipulate the elements we will be burn with fire, drown in water. Our endurance are hard to train" Explain Grandpa Crow

"Endu..rance?"

"This maybe hard to understand, but someday you will. Now go to sleep."

'That's right, if they were injured first, that could be possible.' Shiver ran down Croissant skin thinking about that. Getting closer to us was near impossible, because Elementalist excel at long distance combat. Keeping distance among enemies was the first thing taught to us if anything happen.

'How did they do it'

'No, how did they even enter here.'

Suddenly, Croissant thought about Luke weird expression. She ran towards the chief's house, hearing gunshot from the distance, then she saw Luke and black hooded people using gun attacking the people, the expression of Luke was horrifying. "Is.. that really.. Luke?". Suddenly Croissant was lifted by somebody, she was surprised, but then glad.

"Grandpa are you okay?"

Her grandfather didn't response. Then her grandfather started floating using his power then quickly went out of the town.

"Grandpa?" Croissant was horrified, blood was on her hand

"Grand..pa what..happen to your.. back?"

"Croissant.. I don't have.. much time.." Said Grandpa Crow weakly

"Listen here, our race will find its end today.. But.. I can help you survive.."

"No.. I want to be.. with.. grandpa.." Said Croissant while crying,

"They.. will kill all of us.., They won't leave until everyone is dead."

Croissant began tearing up, yesterday she was still having a happy life, how could it all just turn upside down just in one night.

The two of them went inside the woods. But footsteps can be heard, people were after them.

"My, my what do we have here.."

"That voice.. Luke?"

"That's not Luke anymore Cro." Said Grandpa Crow while shielding Croissant behind him

"I'm sorry dear, your friend Luke, already died, he died when he drown that time.." while smirking he said

"My name is Lucifer, I'm an organ dealer associated with the underworld."

"How.." Said Croissant

"You must be asking how I got this boy's body, well as a goodbye gift I will tell you. I ate the mind mind fruit, I can enter the mind of anybody who I look at. One of my subordinate has the mirror-mirror fruit (this was before Brulee got it). We made a plan to infiltrate here. The mirror found its way inside near the lake. We try entering the non devil fruit user but they never made it back. So I decided to try myself. My was I lucky, that boy saw me when you kids were swimming. Of course I use my power. He resisted at first but I was more powerful. I open the fortress so my men can come inside. My client told me to kill everyone here, while thinking your people eyes would make more money, my client offered more." Lucifer said while laughing out loud. His men was pointing their guns at Croissant and Grandpa Crow.

"Now.. goodbye"

Grandpa Crow shielded me from the gunshot, I was about to use my power

"No, don't.. use.. them.. cough" whispered Grandpa Cro

"Close.. your.. eyes"

"But Grandpa.. *sniff"

"Oi, you, check the girl's pulse, don't want her not dead now do we?" Lucifer command his men

'No, what should I do?' Croissant thought

"It..s ok..ay"

"These two are dead, sir"

'huh?'

"Remember.. Croi..ssant.. Survive.." After that Croissant lost conscious.
