(Disclaimer: Pokemon belongs to Nintendo and Game Freak. I do not own Pokemon.)

I stormed around my room, making sure I had everything I needed.

'Where is that darned toothbrush?'

I ran into the connecting bathroom and searched for my missing brush, finding it in a cupboard...

Along with Eve.

I shook my head and scooped both of them up and ran back into the main room.

'I believe I have everything.'

I then dashed out my room, waving to some of the doctors and nurses, glaring at others.

I was finally free.

Eve sat happily on my shoulder, eying everything that passed us on the way. She slightly growled at some Skitty that were chasing us.

Had I mentioned I was still running?

Proffesor Birch had asked me to come to his lab in Littleroot, which wasn't very far from Rustboro, where the asylum was held.

Eve jumped up and down on my shoulders, making it hard to walking correctly, because she too was excited.

With wide eyes, we bolted through the Petalburg Woods. Flowers glimmered with dew and many Phantump jumped back into the grass as we ran by.

I had forgotten that you encounter pokemon in tall grass, so I ran through it, hoping for a shortcut.

That's when a horde of Shroomish jumped at us, all using tackle. Eve dodged four of the five plant pokemon and sadly, the one that did hit her, was super effective.

Eve used Swift and knocked out two of the opposing pokemon. The ones left used absorb and took away half of Eve's HP.

She then used Shadow Ball, which she had learned from a TM. It knocked out one of the three left, and two remained.

Eve then leveled up to Level 14 and gained a little HP because of it.

The two plants then used tackle, again, and almost knocked Eve out.

She used swift again and made the two final Shroomish faint.

I heard clapping from behind me, so of course, I twirled, almost fabulously, and saw a girl with short, red hair.

She had on red skinny jeans and a blue, pokeball-themed t-shirt on.

"Hey, noob. Your Eevee seems to be a little weak there."

I glanced back at Eve, who looked like she was about to fall, and picked her up.

"Thanks..."

"No problem."

We stared at each other for a whike until she walked over and took Eve from my grasp. She kneeled down an took a potion out of her bag, then sprayed Eve with it.

Eve bounced on the balls of her paws and ran around my legs.

"My name's Danny. Where ya headed?"

"Littleroot Town."

"To see the professor?"

"Yup."

"Mind if I tag along?"

"Sure. Hope you don't mind Eve's curiousness."

"I can handle that if you can handle my Fennekin's bubbliness."

I thought for a second.

"Let's go."
