"Ella!" Danny called after me, as I busted out of the lab ready to run to Route 103. "Ella!"
I turned, not really wanting to waste time. "What?"
"The sun's down, we can go tomorrow."
I pouted. I wanted to go now.
"Where will we stay? Huh?"
She was about to reply when a man's voice called out, "Ella!"
'What's with everyone calling my name?'
Danny and I were both turning to look where the voice was coming from, when I spotted a familiar gym leader, also father of May.
"Norman!"
I walked over to him, or his house, as he was standing at his door. Once there, he pulled me into a hug.
"It's been too long, Ella."
"It has."
Danny gasped when she heard Norman's name. "Norman, as in the gym leader Norman?"
"Not today. Today it's family time Norman."
I nodded, knowing that his gym takes away some of his time for his family.
'Did I mention that Norman is May's dad?'
Danny nodded in understanding, obviously thinking that Norman would be away from home because of his job.
"Now," Norman said. "I heard you girls needed a place to stay for the night."
"Yes, sir."
"Well, Ella, Ella's friend, why don't you stay in May's room for the night?"
"Danny, sir. And that would be amazing."
"Okay, then. It's settled, come one in." He ushered us into his house and into the dining area. The house looked just like I remembered.
"Honey, I'm home. And I brought guests!"
Caroline, Norman's wife/May's mother, came out of the kitchen, looking confused.
"Who?" She gasped when she saw me. "Ella?!"
"Yes, ma'am."
She pulled me into a hug and started crying.
"I haven't seen you in years, deary."
I awkwardly stood in her arms, Danny snickered behind me. "Shh, Danny. Shh."
"No."
"Yes."
"N-" She was interrupted by Caroline, asking what we'd like for dinner.
"BACON!" Danny shouted.
"PANCAKES!" I shouted back.
"BACON!"
"PANCA-"
"How about we have both?"
I nodded, because bacon AND pancakes sounded amazing.
AND Caroline's cooking was the best.
Norman patted my shoulder, "Why don't you go put your stuff upstairs?"
Danny and I playfully shoved each other as we bounced up the stairs.
We were setting out things down when Danny said, "They seem nice."
"Yeah, they are. They were like my second pair of parents before my mom and dad died,"I whispered, tears gathering in my eyes as I remembered the night my parents died.
She smiled at me in sympathy.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
I gave a small smile in return.

The next day Danny and I set out with high hopes for the day, knowing we'd coming across one, maybe two, new friends.
The sun was high in the sky, Wingull flew high above, and the grass was wet with fresh dew.
We passed a few children, younger than us anyways, who told us things like how Pokemon will jump at you when you're in the tall grass.
Once we were in Oldale Town, we stopped for a rest before heading down Route 103. A man was looking at footprints, forbidding us from going to Petalburg City, so we headed down Route 103.
We doubted May was still there, yet we headed that way anyways.
But to my suprise, standing observing the mountains, in all her glory, was May.
"May?"
She jumped a little in shock and turned around.
"Ella?!"
She tackled me, and boy was it super effective.
She was heavy!
"Good Arceus, May. You weigh as much as a Snorlax."
She snorted and hugged me as tight as she could.
"Shut up, loser."
Danny was watching a Skitty run by as this happened, by the way.
"Oh, El. We absolutely have to catch up!"
"Um, nothing really has happened for me. I went to an asylum, the Proffessor sent me on a mission, and I met that noob," I thrust my thumb over my shoulder, inicating to Danny. "She's Danny, my new travel buddy."
"Oh."
"Hey, May."
"Yeah?"
"Can you get off of me?"
She hopped up, holding out a hand to help me up.
"Thanks."
My pockets felt lighter than usual so I checked them.
Eve's pokeball was gone!
And so was Blade's.
I looked around my feet, seeing that the items had rolled a few feet away. I picked them up, letting Eve out and putting Blade's pokeball back in my pocket.
"You have a Pokemon?!"
"Uh, yeah?"
"Let's battle!"
Before I could answer, she threw a ball, letting out a small Mudkip.
'Oh, this is going to be good.'
