I got home around 3:00 so I had roughly an hour to do some homework before I had to get ready to go to work.

Amber and I had settled on going to the mall tomorrow to look for some new swimsuits.

The current swimsuit I had was two years old I could still get some use out of it but it'd be best to get a new one. Although I hated wasting money on things Amber insisted this was a necessity.

I was able to complete the majority of my subjects before I began getting ready for work. Our uniforms weren't actually that bad, we had the option of either black shirt with the name of the diner and pants or the black dress given to us when we get the job.

I hated dresses so I almost always chose the shirt and pants, today's as no different. I used the dress as the last resort.

Besides I was basically the manager of the diner, being close to Noah and being the most reliable worker the diner had. So, it was better to look the part of the manager.

We didn't have too many workers considering it was a small town diner, and I did take a lot of the shifts. I was kind of close with a girl there, her name was Jess, we normally worked the same times. I was just glad to have a friend there.

I brought some of my schoolwork with me to finish if I had the spare time at the diner.

I ran downstairs to grab a snack before leaving, as I reached the kitchen I heard the front door open. I heard the sound of heels hitting the floor so I knew it was Aunt Lori.

"Hey Aunt Lori! How was work?" I said as I quickly ran into the foyer to give her a give. She smiles once she sees me and drops her purse to open her arms to hug me.

"Hey girlie, I was afraid I missed you before you left. Everything's good, and I got Friday off so you me, and Steven could have a movie night or something." She said with a wide smile.

"Thats amazing! We haven't had a family day in forever!" I smiled and jumped around a little bit from excitement.

"Besides that and work, you got any plans this week?" She asked while picking up her purse and walking towards the kitchen.

"Oh yeah, me and my friends are gonna go up to the beach on Saturday, and me and amber are getting new swimsuits tomorrow." I said while peeling a banana to eat before work.

"Oooh that sounds fun girlie, just make sure you text me. Any cuties tagging along?" She said while wiggling her eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes, "No Auntie nothing like that. Just me the girls, Alec and two of his friends."

"You know I'm kidding girlie, but it is a beach be on the lookout for any hotties." She playfully winked at me.

I laughed before checking the clock, "Oops it's 4:10 I gotta get to work, I'll see you later Auntie." I said before giving her another hug.

"Okay girlie, I love you, don't overwork yourself okay?" She said while tucking a stray piece of hair behind my ear.

I softly smiled at her, "Don't worry I promise I won't, I love you too, I gotta go." I said while rushing to grab my keys. I blew Aunt Lori a kiss before running to my car.

I made it to the diner with 5 minutes to spare. I walked in and smiled when I saw Jess was already here. I clocked in, dropped my schoolwork by the cash register, and grabbed my notepad.

"Hey hon, how was your weekend?" Jess said as she walked up to me. Jess was twenty and the proud single mother of a two year old boy named Gabe. She pulled two jobs to help her and Gabe get by.

She was a really amazing person, strong willed, and really smart. She accidentally got pregnant with Gabe in the middle of her senior year.

Luke, Gabes father, was in college but still helped with what he could. He still came into town to visit, called often and sent money he did have. I was glad her life was better than some in her situation.

"It was good went to a party had a good time then hung out with my girls and did homework. What about you?" I told her excitedly.

"Well mainly worked but, Luke came into town and watched Gabe on Saturday. So, I got to spend time my girls too." She said slightly giggling.

We got interrupted when some more customers came in. Jess said she'd get them and told me to do my homework. I sent her a grateful smile and sat down to finish my work.

A few hours later and a pile of homework later. I was clocked out and locked up. Jess had clocked out an hour ago.

I drove home and heated up a burger that jerry, the cook at the diner had made me, before I left. I smiled silently thanking god for the good people around me.

I heard some clumsy steps down the stairs and turned to see Steven. "Hey I'm glad I got to see you before I feel asleep." He said with a chuckle.

We talked for a bit while I ate my dinner, he told me how this Friday we had a big football game and said Auntie was gonna go. I happily told him i'd come too, and that we could have family movie night afterwords.

Life was busy, really busy. But I wouldn't change it for the world.
